@theblackdragon even if somebody did unfortunately pass, theres no way wed know about it, i dont think their parents will come on the forum to inform us, and we wouldnt recognize the person's face (unless it was prosody) in the news anyway

nope im nearly 13, still young i know. but you have to know i have 5 cousins that are 14 or older that frequently visit so i learn quite a bit from them , i also learn things from the media.
for example, i learned 2 girls one cup from family guy, where stewie sees that video, curious, i looked it up online and found a definition of the vid.

And why do you hate smoking so much? Because it kills people? If so, why be glad about a smoker's eventual death? Wait, I know -- it's because they chose to willingly do something you feel strongly against, and because they didn't make the same decisions you've made in your own life, you feel free to gloat over the idea that you will live longer than they. Right.

Seriously, we could all die tomorrow... and hey, newsflash, we're all going to die eventually. What's the point in being a jerk to your fellow man if they're not going out of their way to be a jerk to you?

I don't understand the hatred flying around in this topic and in the alcohol topic. If you want to drink or smoke, fine -- you've been educated about the dangers and you think you can handle it, no one here can possibly do anything years of school programs, after-school TV specials, restrictive laws, and Truth commercials haven't done already. change your mind later? good for you. If you don't want to drink or smoke, fine -- you won't have the experience of ever having done so, the end. change your mind later? good for you. People do different things with their lives. We're all our own individuals, and we all make our own decisions.

I guess what I'm trying to say is "Relax. You'll live longer."

so what? what business is it of yours what someone else chooses to do or not do? why does them choosing to do something you personally think is dumb make it right for you to gloat over their eventual death, whether or not it comes prematurely?

As a non-smoker, it's really a turn off to kiss a lady that smokes.

I do smoke salmon from time to time. But I don't kiss them so it's okay.

I've never smoked other than grass which was okay until the last time I got high when I had a pretty bad trip and then swore off that as well (not that I was a regular user or ever purchased it myself, I just wouldn't refuse a joint if anyone was passing one around).

I've had a girlfriend who smoked without my knowledge (very occasional cigarette and excellent hygine -- I was shocked when I found out; by that time we had already split up; probably because I was a pretty opinonated git back then).

I went out with someone one who smoked and at the end of our date we got to smooching and it was so disgusting that I had to stop and tell her how gross it was. She was a bit taken aback, but seriously I was going to be sick! Needless to say I find it completely revolting and whilst I don't automatically have a bad opinion of someone just because they smoke, as with drinking it's just not something I see any attraction in or like to be around.

You might as well lock this one too, it had for more offensive comments in than the booze one. Meanwhile, I'm goin' for a fag!

@Machu - relatively sure the term is fug...at least in Baltimore back when I heard it used. Who knows honestly?

I'm like 99% done w/ cigarettes...I can almost always make it past the month part until that one night I happen to want to drink with people that smoke...then it's back to day 1. But yeah--I hate them. Curse being a weak-willed, impressionable 12 year old with middle-school friends.

I dunno if I'll ever stop smokin' weed...too helpful in my game design inspiration, just generally enjoy it too much to want to stop. Honestly, if they made alcohol enforced-illegal tomorrow it wouldn't bug me much--I'm covered.
