I take my time and enjoy 3D Mario games, and seem to rush through 2D Mario games. I guess I treated Super Mario 3D Land like a 2D Mario game, because I 100%ed it yesterday.
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.
I can rush through it AND enjoy all the levels. I don't see why those things are mutually exclusive.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
I'd imagine with Super Mario 3D Land I'll rush my way through the levels and then take my time when I go back to get everything that I missed along the way. Unfortunately it doesn't come out till the 24th here though so still another week of waiting.
I cleared Super Mario Galaxy 2 in one day and Super Mario 3D Land in a few hours, so of course I rush through it the first time. However, I take my time completing the games in full, and I still enjoy it when rushing or taking my time. I rush through Super Mario Bros. 3, but I still enjoy that too. Just because you play games in fast spurts doesn't mean you don't like the game. It might in fact mean you really like it. I guess we all have our ways of playing games.
I need to edit that first post. I need to think of a better way to rephrase that.
For the fist game, I have this strange tic where I ALWAYS use the hidden pipes to advance, that means I have never played level 1-3.
I have never completed a Mario game other than NSMB and Sunshine now that I think about it. Edit: And SML2! I really enjoyed SML2, and since I'm less than bad at that kind of game, I certainly couldn't have rushed it.
The new "3 coin" system has definitely slowed me down. I'm so OCD I won't move on without collecting them all.
same I HAVE to get everything the 1st time through

I spent about a year on Galaxy, and more than a year on Galaxy 2.
You might say that I prefer to savor a great game, just pulling it out once in a while for a focused hour when the night feels right. On second thought, that sounds much more romantic than intended.

I take my time with them. The only one I remember rushing through was NSMB but that was around the time when I could beat games really fast (Beat Pokemon Emerald in about 11 hours around the same time).
It depends really. I can run through Super Mario World 100% in less than 2 hours. Otherwise games like Super Mario Galaxy 1/2, Sunshine and NSMB/NSMBWii I take my time and 100% them. Which is probably the highlight of my gaming career.
Oh and I destroy at Super Mario Bros. Destroy I tell you.

It depends on how I feel about the game. For instance, NSMBWii didn't really engage me, so I put it down after some light playing in late December 2009/early January 2010 and didn't pick it up and complete it until this summer as part of a Backloggery Challenge. However, I plowed through SML2 on the VCH in 2.5 hours in about 3 days or so and haven't touched it since then, and I'm actively trying to restrain myself from demolishing SM3DL as quickly as possible by limiting myself to 2 Worlds a day, but even now I can't live without getting all 3 Star Medals in each one, and the golden flag poles are starting to irk me ...
I find that I rush through them, simply because I'm so thrilled with the experience that I can't wait to see what's next. I'm a big fan of the 3-Collectible-Coins-Per-Level thing they've been doing with the NSMB games and 3D Land, because it gives me reason to revisit and obsess over the levels, but they're not as arduous to look for as Stars or Shine Sprites.

I never rush through Mario games and like to take my time with those awesome games. Then again, I don't really rush through any games unless they're really short like SML, I'm not much of a speed gamer.
