No. I've been buying a ridiculous amount of games over the past couple of years. Some get finished, some collect dust while they're still in their shrink wrap.
I'll go through my library of completable games (i.e. those with set objectives, leaving out games like Animal Crossing and Nintendogs)... Metroid Prime Hunters : First Hunt (several times over) The Urbz : Sims In The City (completed around 7-8 times; I couldn't afford any other DS games at the time; 100%) The Sims 2 (completed several times; 100%) Sprung (completed several times; essentially 100% but some unlockables aren't actually unlockable facepalm) WarioWare : Twisted! (100%) The Sims 2 (completed once; never played it again) Battles of Prince of Persia (reluctantly completed about 3-4 years after purchase; I'll never touch this game again) Metroid Prime Hunters (completed single player mode; can't be bothered scanning 100%) Scooby Doo : Unmasked! (100%) Resident Evil : Deadly Silence (completed several times under both difficulty settings to witness the various endings; haven't been able to experience them all yet) The Sims 2 : Pets (100% despite being one of the worst games I've ever played, and one of the very few that I've traded in) Project Rub (completed all 3 difficulty modes) Pokemon Pearl (collected all 493 Pokemon; many through Wi-Fi trades, though who knows how THEY managed to obtain Celebi et al.) Pokemon Emerald (completed single player mode and caught all non-event legendaries) The Sims 2 : Castaway (about 70-80%; probably won't bother aiming for 100%) The Simpsons Game (99% unlockables) Need For Speed : ProStreet (around 40%; I won't play this again) Chicken Little : Ace In Action (100% in my first and only sitting; belongs to my little brother) Super Princess Peach (completed, sans a few unlockables) New Super Mario Bros. (completed; two star rating) Theme Park (100%) Mario Kart DS (100% unlocked) Mr. Bean (100%) Pokemon Leaf Green (completed single player mode and caught all non-event legendaries) The Legend of Zelda : Phantom Hourglass (lost track of where I was; will probably start this game over from scratch one of these years) Miami Nights : Singles in the City (100%) Orcs & Elves (completed all 3 difficulty modes) The Sims : Bustin' Out (100%) Grand Theft Auto : Chinatown Wars (around 84%; completed single player campaign) Dementium : The Ward (100%) Pokemon Platinum (obtained 491 Pokemon, many via Wi-Fi trades) Runaway: The Dream of the Turtle (couldn't be bothered passing the first chapter ) Call of Duty: World at War (about 70%) Advance Wars: Dark Conflict (Chapter 6 or 7 or so; this game is too freaking difficult; probably won't bother completing it) Sonic Rush Adventure (20%) Space Invaders Extreme 2 (completed single player mode) Flower, Sun and Rain (10%?) Sonic Rush (100%) Pokemon HeartGold (yet to battle Ash at Mt. Silver) Kirby Super Star Ultra (40%) The Legendary Starfy (0%; still in shrink wrap) Assassin's Creed 2: Discovery (completed single player mode) Pokemon Ranger: Shadows of Almia (0%) WarioWare: Touched! (100%) Hotel Giant DS (100%; traded it in) WarioWare: D.I.Y. (missing some music tracks and the like, but I don't really care) Prince of Persia : The Forgotten Sands (about 30%) Professor Layton and Pandora's Box (completed adventure) The Rub Rabbits! (still playing through "Hard" mode) New Zealand Story Revolution (only completed the first couple of stages) Wario : Master of Disguise (0%) Sonic Colours (0%; still in shrink wrap; will complete Sonic Rush Adventure first) Pokemon Black (completed single player adventure) Pokemon White (0%) Mario vs. Donkey Kong : Mini-land Mayhem! (up to Chapter 4 or 5 in "Expert mode") Professor Layton and the Curious Village (completed adventure) Professor Layton and the Lost Future (about 70%; I only play this game in longer sessions) Might & Magic : Clash of Heroes (1%) Pilotwings Resort (Silver or Gold mode) Dead or Alive : Dimensions (completed Chronicles and unlocked all fighters) Super Mario Land (completed this several times over under both difficulty modes) Double Dragon (completed) The Legend of Zelda : Link's Awakening DX (about 2-3% =P) Resident Evil : The Mercenaries 3D (up to the fifth batch of levels; struggling with the boss) Kirby's Dream Land (yet to play through "Hard" mode) The Legend of Zelda : Ocarina of Time 3D (only played through the Deku tree) Duke Nukem Advance (Stage 3) Fortified Zone (Stage 4) Yoshi's Island DS (0%) Avenging Spirit (Stage 2) Surviving High School (completed single player adventure in one 2 hour sitting; playing through it again) Miami Nights : Life in the Spotlight (20%) Oscar in Movieland (Level 3)
So I still have a whole heap of games that I'm yet to complete.
"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"
I play games until I get bored of them. Whether than means completing it, playing through it multiple times or putting it back in it's box after one session and never touching it again.
Legitimate thread here, I have the same problems as the OP. I think for me it's an issue of having such broad access to gaming topics which interest me, which I of course indulge in reading all of the latest news. When you open yourself up to all of that advertising, it has the potential to overwhelm and suffocate your passion. With the Wii I found myself buying games based on an historic franchise, rather than any enthusiasm of my own. This could only last so long, until I noticed how unsatisfied I had become with my collection at large. As a bit of a tangent, this problem led to my decision to trade-in many of my disappointing games. A concept which was quite foreign to me, especially in the days where every game I owned was essentially a gift from my supportive parents.
There`s a lot of games that I`ve abandoned. I do occasionally manage to get back to one, even finishing a previously uncompleted game on occasion, but for the most part, I don`t complete games once I lost interest.
There are a few games i keep forgetting to go back to. But Not terribly too many. I will admit though Legend of Zelda 3D i haven't finished. And of course Terranigma. But then again I just got Terranigma for Super Famicom.

There are many games I still need to finish and from time to time I will go back to games I haven't finished yet but unfortunately I doubt I will finish all the games i own before I die and I'm not sure I'll even be able to get all the games I would want to before I die.
