Anyone ever see the show Containment on Netflix? Sadly it didn’t get renewed, but it’s semi-relevant. Forced quarantine of a section of Atlanta.

Now I want to watch Quarantine 2 😂

I wonder what the gaming industry will do now that infectious disaster porn is passe? For years it's been contagious zombie stories. Somehow I don't think there's going to be much demand for that content now.

It makes me think people have been subconsciously awaiting this inevitability and that's why they were addicted to living in a simulation of it. Horror tends to reflect the real fears of its era.

Looks like after several weeks of postponement and number crunching, coronavirus testing will be free for everyone in the US. That’s great news and hopefully now they’ll have a better handle on the situation and the people who need it will get the treatment.

@ThanosReXXX Thanks man. You brought up some good points as well. Crazy times.

@NEStalgia ''Beat COVID19 in the upcoming Last of Us Part 2!'' could be a great marketing slogan right now.

Damn, I was going to film a sketch this weekend but I really don’t feel like dealing with the virus. Charlotte (where I live) only had two confirmed cases though so I don’t know.

I don't like Monster Hunter.

I'm probably listening to green day right now.

@Octane If that's successful marketing, I REALLY don't understand the human race...

... But if you're doing it, do it right. It's DLC. Subscription required.

The madness and hoarding has now reached my streets as well, though. I just came back from the supermarket, and you can probably guess what happened: no toilet paper, no pastas, no rice products, no canned soups, powdered soups/bouillons etc. etc. The people responsible for this are idiots. The government has now even issued an official statement telling people to stop hoarding, but Dutch people are a stubborn folk, so I wonder if it'll make any difference...

It's not entirely irrational. Even though it's unlikely that food is gonna run out, because those supply lines won't be really affected by something like this, there's still the issue of social distancing. You should avoid going into crowded areas, especially indoor areas, as much as possible. That includes supermarkets. The main way to avoid going into supermarkets is buy as much as possible ahead of time so you can reduce your visits.
Either that or use home delivery if you live somewhere that has it.
One of my parents is in generally bad health, and is about 70y/o, so I deliberately hoarded some stuff just so they don't have to go out themselves. Seemed reasonable to me.

It's dangerous to go alone! Stay at home.

ThanosReXXX

@NotTelevision Thanks, and you're welcome.

@Dezzy Yes and no. You do need to get SOME extra supplies, but nobody needs to exaggerate it to the point that they could almost begin their own little supermarket. I don't know about your direct environment, but over here, there's plenty of stock of everything. The CEO responsible for the largest chain of supermarkets over here said so in an interview today, so there's no need for hoarding whatsoever, and what that hoarding does, is prevent other people (who either need it just as much or maybe even more than you) from also getting these things.

We need to share, not hoard. People buying a two month's worth supply of toilet paper or food all at once, are idiots and egotistical SOB's, far as I'm concerned. I absolutely detest the me, me, me crowd. We're all in this together, you know. And in this particular situation, that statement is more true than ever.

And my dad is 76, and both a diabetes and Parkinson's patient, but he is in good health and he does his own shopping. As for me, I only go to the supermarket once or twice a week, the second time mostly because I forgot something the first time, so it's not like I'm there every day.

@ThanosReXXX Here there is plenty of stick as well and still people are behaving like idiots and panicking like it is the end of the world. And we have only 2 dead (both old and with chronic diseases).

You can see how stupid people are when you need a deadly virus to remind them to wash their hands. Pathetic

ThanosReXXX

@Zuljaras Indeed...
And let's also add holding your hand in front of your mouth when you're coughing, or coughing into your elbow to that Captain Obvious list...

I cough into my shirt, personally. Always found getting stuff on my hands to be gross.

Ugh. Men.

My goodness, every grocery store is full of people. They are buying everything they can get their hands on. While they do that, they are pushing each other like animals. Poor workers aren't getting paid enough to deal with this madness.

First case in my town this week. An ill bridesmaid at a wedding of 150 people last week, tested positive yesterday.

I saw a guy cough while I was at GameStop; think I should buy 10-12 packs of TP just to be safe?

I'm really curious how quickly paying for things will change as a result of coronavirus. I'm not confident paying with phones will take over completely. I just don't want to touch those card readers to pay for things anymore.

@Woomy_NNYes I've been wondering that too. A lot of places here aren't taking other things, like reward cards (scan/swipe yourself), refillable cups at coffee shops and other such things. But yet, they are all still handling currency at this point. I've been wondering if places will be going digital only as well. Seems pointless to restrict all those other things, then accept a wad of filthy cash.
I don't have my phone set up (yet), but I always used a 'tap' card anyway before all this, so nothing really changed for me in that regard.
