I know a lot of people here like using backloggery, because of the social element to it, but I thought I'd make a thread for this, because IMO it's the best database/ catalogue tool I've personally (despite the silly name)
I've messed around with it, and added my entire retail collection of games across PS3, 3DS, DS, Wii, Xbox and Xbox 360 - I like that the software can sync with your iPad/ iPhone/ Android, or you can make .pdfs of your collection etc (http://www.mediafire.com/?k01l1wa3l8txloq for my game collection). It doesn't take too long - I had everything done there in two evenings, and I'm slowly working through doing my digital games as well, but it's nice to have that collected view of your collection.
The software itself also produces some awesome statistics bars and charts.
Anyone who's interested: http://www.collectorz.com/ I swear I don't work for these guys, just found it to be a really useful tool
Anyone else happen to use it? Other database programs to recommend?
With BL you can just link it and have anyone see it. Half the fun is updating stuff that everyone can see. You can also simply use it as a personal thing, one that you can access from any computer or device with an internet browser.

It's pretty as all hell on the iPad
I personally found BL clunky to use. Adding games was (for me) far slower and more tedious than this database. I did 160 games in just a few hours, and while you only see the list in that file above, in the database it has everything - game summary (taken from Collectorz own database), box shot, personal star ratings, whether you've completed the game or not, screenshots and pages more detail per game.
You can also export your whole database as a html file. Useful if you do a lot of online trading/ selling.
I dunno. I really recommend that anyone who wants to properly catalogue a big game collection look into this. It's a far more powerful tool (albiet less social) than BL.
For what it lacks in one department to BL it seems to make up for in another. I can see how this could be real helpful for someone wanting to accurately organize their collection.
