Topic: Club Nintendo Rewards. ^_^

I just got my platinum reward in the mail yesterday. It's the figurine that has the whole Super Mario gang on it, coolest reward I've seen yet. It came in a yellow box with question marks on it, and included a thank you note for helping Nintendo 'put smiles on gamers faces' by taking part in the surveys. If you didn't know already, by registering your products at https://club.nintendo.com/ and filling out surveys, you get coins that can be redeemed for goodies. You can also get a special yearly reward without using any of your coins. Anyhoo, the point of this post is, as small a thing as it is, it means a lot, and adds a personal touch. These things cost money to produce, and the cost of shipping to the members... It's just really refreshing when I can't turn my other systems on without being bombarded with advertisements. I think Microsoft would charge me for turning my 360 on if they could. Now that I think about it, shouldn't being subjected to all those commercials entitle me to free live? I mean, that's how commercial radio and television works, right? All I'm saying is it's nice to be appreciated once in a while. And I, er, appreciate being appreciated.

I thought the free games that were offered last year were classified as "gold" rewards?

Hope it's that way this year as well, as I don't have platinum.

They were Gold. Platinum only got 3 posters or some plastic paying cards as exclusives.

Basically, Gold members will only have access to Gold rewards, while Platinum members will have the choices of both Gold AND Platinum rewards. But remember that you can only choose one prize out of the lot.

Maybe Nintendo should give Platinum members eShop codes? Like for credit. I mean, 600 points is near 600 dollars, less due to surveys but still. It wouldn't be any loss.

They already have the Deluxe Digital Promo on Wii U for that, and they give games away for coins.

I made it to gold immediately, with 210 coins to go. I'll be buying at least 3 games just this year, and along with the surveys will get me to Platinum by summer for sure.

Yeah, but unless they offer Paper Mario, I'll probably end up getting the calendar. Last year they just chose a bunch a bunch of recently offered games, and if it's the same this year, PM is the only recent reward that I don't already have that I'm interested in.

Why does the counter with the badge says... X coins.. to Gold 2013. Isn't that supposed to be 2014 now?

I'm really stingy with my coins so an N64 game does sound appealing. Probably Star Fox or F Zero X, in my case.

15 coins away from being a gold member...should of saved some of my coins from before.

Offer up Pilotwings 64 (is it even on the Virtual Console at all?) and it's a deal.

Last year's playing cards ruled, but one needs only one set of transparent playing cards.

Honestly, I think I'll never be satisfied until all the rewards are just Game & Watch reprints, so whatever.
