Topic: Atlus vs. Square Enix

Two JRPG companies... One Winner! So, today i want to see how many People Prefer one over the other..Pick one company and explain Y U choose it...and try to explain why it's better than the other.Ready ? GO!

What type of question is that atlus wins all the wayyyyy......im sorry Square Enix is now more american then japanese.

Yeah, that's not a fair contest around here. Square-Enix hasn't put a good game that wasn't a remake on a Nintendo system in years...

Atlus all the way. Not even the overly hype FFXV can bring my faith back to them.

I like them both... One for the things they did, the other for what they're doing.

Oh, Atlus. Like I don;t even own more than 3 or 4 of their games but the answer is clear.

BTW, personally, I like Square-Enix. They put a lot of good games (no matter what the "fans" say...), especially on the PS2, PSP, and PS3. My only qualm is that lately they haven't done enough besides Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, or Kingdom Hearts, and that seems to be changing with a new Drakengard and Bravely Default. It's just that Atlus is a million times better in every regard, both as a publisher (they still bring over a few Niche games and know how to sell them right) and a developer (I can't think of the last time they put out a bad game...).

I'll be honest, my opinion is based on 2 main things.

1. SE made Final Fantasy XIII and it sold many copies.
2. Atlus didn't murder children.

So the answer was clear.

I've never actually played any Atlus games (outside of a demo or two), so I'm not in a position to compare.

I do usually enjoy what I get from SE though, so Atlus must be pretty special to be getting all this love.

In their respective primes: 90s-early 00s SE
Now: Atlus

Atlus all the way. I used to be like, "Square Enix all the way" until I played games by Atlus.
And yes, as Caviar said, SE on their primes during the early 90s-00s. But now, it's all Atlus.

I'll pick Square Enix. Dragon Quest is really great, Bravely Default looks like a 3DS must have, and Code of Princess really sucked.

In terms of policies and the actual company, I'd have to say Atlus. However Square ate Enix, so I have to vote for them game wise because quite simply, they have Dragon Quest (Even though they haven't given us much of it recently! >:[ ).

@Kyloctopus Well CoP wasn't inhouse so that doesn't count. Besides what they released after that more then makes up for it. As for S-E they haven't made anything relevent on a Nintendo platform as far as RPG's go since TWEWY so yeah Atlus all the way even if only on handheld systems for Nintendo!

Oh so sorry forgot about Dragon Quest 9.
