Let me explain a bit about myself first. The first time I touched code was about four years ago when I started learning how to make websites. I instantly fell in love with code despite the many limitations of pure HTML. Soon after I decided to passively learn CSS along side school. Since I had to focus on school, there wasn't much progress. A year after that (one year ago), I decided to start doing some real programming- learning javascript. I wasn't totally new to actual programming since I used to create levels in a game named Roblox. Back to the point, My first game turned out to be a lumber tycoon game where you cut down trees and earn upgrades. This was soon discarded to allow the rise of a new game me and my friend created named Penguine Promenade (Penguin purposely spelt wrong).

The game was kinda inspired by the Bullet bill jump concept from the mario series...
So, what about you guys? I'm interested to hear about your experiences with code/ programming and what your current project is.

I am familiar with C#, which I used to code a game in XNA. My hard drive died and I was unable to continue the game (which couldn't even run on my computer in the first place! >_<). I also have been messing around in Game Maker for years, I've started several projects but haven't really finished any really (ignoring stuff for school, like my Japanese project). But I guess I sort of have I main project I'm working on, but I don't feel like disclosing it.

i've been using Unity3D for a few years now. its a lot of fun to play around it, and you can create some basic prototypes fairly quickly. it has a lot of built in components and assets, its own physics system, and more. i've been working on a pong game for fun, but am planning on fleshing it out a bit more and maybe even releasing it for android at some point if i get around to it. the coolest thing in it so far is you can go into the menu and switch to a 3rd person camera from the point of view of the paddle.

I've played around with Game Maker a little(thanks @Gioku for showing it to me) but I'm putting that on hold because I'm learning Java at college and the focus on the Java class is to make all kinds apps and stuff.

i tried learning how to but all the math and calculations makes my head hurt XD.

On twitch the creator of minecraft,Notch did a live stream of him making a game within a short time(i think only a few days). It was insane how much work it goes into making a game.

I've been working on a game for Future Pinball. It uses Visual Basic, or VBScript, I'm not sure which. (It's the one that's supposed to be more user friendly) Anyways It's coming along nicely, you can check it out with the link in my signature. I've also dabbled a little in Petit Computer. I was working on a game, but I got stumped when I started trying to program the enemy AI and I decided to start working on my pinball game again because it's easier to program and is more important to me.

I like makin' games!

@supermario182 In my S&G class we're actually going to use Unity3d soon (we're currently on Java Android Apps), is it any good for 2D sprite games? How hard are they to do?

@GuSilverFlame What kind of apps you been making? So far all I've done is boring ones... I'm also very interested to see what type of games you've been making. Off-Topic: Do you know what happened to my joke thread? Not that I want it back of course (my sense of humor must be terrible if you didn't get the joke), just asking?

@ZeroZX_Dev no I don't know what happened to it and sorry for noticing it was a joke(but I didn't report it)
and so far I've been on the very slow point of learning the basic about Object based languages sadly my class was one of the worst yet when it comes to programming last year(we learned C) so the teacher slowed down and I'm still into the introduction(thinking seriously about studying Java by myself if it keeps at this pace)

@GuSilverFlame
Well, if you're interested in learning Java or at least practicing then you should definitely try Coding Bat.
It'll teach you how to make methods(which basically return a value or preform an action), which is a crucial part of making objects and help with variable declaration. We basically did that last year and that's how I learned C#.

Sadly I wish I would have learned coding and all kinds of stuff in order to make videogames I'm just an idea person so I'm just waiting on a friend to finish school so she can give life to my ideas. Also today due to the anger of flappy birds I came up with a crappy game idea that could make millions just to prove a point that any idiot can think of a game like flappy birds and my idea is not a rip off it doesn't play like flappy birds but it's the kind of crap people eat up.

@mamp Why not try starting now? If you know some HTML & CSS, javascript is a great place to start. If not, you can try using other programs like Unity, Game maker, Roblox, Gmod or if you don't know any programming at all, you can try Microsoft's project spark. If you have the time, I will tell you that it is definitely worth the investment.
