Remember, Nintendo is spacing out announcements throughout the week. I mean, we don't even know what game the press conference is on tomorrow night.

Smash is smash and Pokken Fighters is supposedly a tournament fighter. They're completely different games. Not to mention they both have huge names behind them, smash and Pokemon. Neither would dip into the sales of the other.
But you're probably right.

I don't even know how you solidly place Smash in a genre. It's one of the most unique games franchises out there.

What/when is this press conference?

I'm not sure. I'm trying to figure it out, but reggie specifically mentioned the Smash 3DS one tonight in his interview with IGN. This thing was announced a while ago (remember the "mystery 3DS game" threads?), but I can't find anything else anywhere.

I gotta give Nintendo an A for their Digital Event. There'll probably be more announcements over the week as well.
Despite it not being very long, Zelda did it for me. I didn't exhale until the whole segment was over. Gorgeous! Just... gorgeous. That's going to be one thing that I'll be watching frame-by-frame for the next two days or so.

Also, I found the Robot Chicken stuff just hilarious. I love that Nintendo can laugh at themselves. I just preordered Bayonetta 2 (I love that they included the first game like I knew they would), Pokemon Alpha Sapphire and Smash Wii U on Amazon (30% off when you preorder three or more... so I'll probably preorder more later).
