I've started watching Mahou Sensou so far it looks like it isn't bad and the opening makes it all worth hope it ends being good.
goodbyes are a sad part of life but for every end there's a new beggining so one must never stop looking forward to the next dawn

@V8_Ninja - You mean the main guy? I thought he was the 2nd worst part of Witch Craft Works. He was a jerk, a complete idiot, and a doormat. Sure, he freaked out about things and seemed mystified, but guess what - so was I. The show did nothing to bring what was going on into any kind of coherent context, which IMO is what a first episode should do. Granted the worst thing about it was the main girl there. I hated how everyone would dote on her despite having no personality whatsoever, she completely ignores everybody, and doesn't seem to have any special qualities when she's not in battle mode (and her fighting skills don't seem that interesting, either).
But otherwise I agree with you about Seki-kun, Hamatora (sorta, I don't mind the things that annoyed you), amd Nobunaga the Fool (except you're not missing much by not knowing who the characters are based on). I also agree with you about Magical Warfare, except I'll be watching the second episode at least to see what the plot is about.
Any places to watch new anime even with sub's. I'm guessing chrnuchy roll is the only legal way too.
Crunchyroll, Hulu, Funimation.com, Anime Sols, and Daisuki.net are all legal websites for anime streaming. Viki and Crackle have some anime too, but not much that you can't get anywhere else. Oh, and The Anime Network has stuff, but you have to pay for it for most things.
So felt ready to more or less give up on Space Dandy, didnt really feel like it was goin' anywhere... But honestly this last episode wasn't as boring. Just maybe, it'll get better from here.
New One Piece opening celebrating the 15th Anniversary of the anime.
I really like it. I already think it's better than Hands Up! They made an occasion out of it in the first part of the opening, and the second part of it was when they actually showed the elements pertaining to the Dressrosa arc. Although it was a bit short, I thought it went down well.
Space Dandy - Despite a couple of interruptions, I finally got to watch it! Positively, it was pretty humorous, and it might just be the most vibrant show on the block. As for negatives, the animation quality isn't as high as I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't look bad by any sense of the word (and it looks better than some other shows on the block), but I was expecting a bit more from the creator of Cowboy Bebop (Eh, it is a comedy, so maybe I should cut it some slack here). Still a good show though, if a bit odd (what's with the gagged Statue of Liberty head?).
Bleach - I'm really not into this filler story, but tonight's episode was actually pretty good. There was some pretty good action, and OMG THEY STOLE MY IDEA FOR A ZANPAKUTO ABILITY!!!!
Naruto Shippuden - Pretty good episode. Still just Naruto & Sakura showing their growth (man can she punch!).
One Piece - Lots of setup in this episode. With all that's going on, s*** is about to hit the fan.
Soul Eater - Looks like Death the Kid is the chosen of the Keyblade (seriously, that magic tool looks just like a Keyblade). I always knew clowns were no good, lol.
Sword Art Online - I'm not a fan of the sibling romance element, and the scene where Asuna was caught was cringe worthy (tentacles, really?!), but this is still my favorite premiering show on the block. Despite it's stranger elements, it really has the most gripping narrative on Toonami, and is still the best looking show on it as well. (regarding the sister's feelings for Kirito, I see it like how you'd view drug making in Breaking Bad or polygamy in Big Love. You know it's wrong, but because of that, you kind of want to see how it's going to fall apart).
Also, they had a new montage featuring the kick butt strong willed women of Toonami.
I'm a little disappointed in the overall reception of Space Dandy. Shinichiro Watanabe is director with a seriously unique sense of style, so I guess it's natural that some of them are well received and the others not so much. That being said, all the press I've been seeing about Space Dandy makes it out to be the kind of show which would repulse me. I liked Watanabe's works because they were stylish but still grounded in something real, and I don't think I'd get that from Space Dandy.
always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)
Oh, according to my cable's info, in two weeks FLCL is getting replaced by Samurai Jack.
A bit of a random & sudden change, but since they've been through FLCL several times, and since they're being so specific about it's replacement, it's probably true.
SJ won't take over FLCL's 1:30 (central) slot though. Rather, GitS will move to the 1:30 slot, and SJ will premier where GitS is now, at 3:00.
Personal speculation: I wouldn't be surprised to see them either move InuYasha to an earlier point in the night, or axe it down the road, and have the final hour & a half of the block be more kid friendly with SJ, IGPX, & SW:CW. Although it'd technically still be AS as it always has been, I've heard that a lot of children wake up early, and catch the last hour or so of the block, so this would be a perfect place to throw all the borrowed CN action shows, that probably aren't as popular with the adult crowd as their anime is, but would do reasonably well here.

Hmm, I never really liked these opening music segments. I always skip them. I just don't like these japanese pop songs or whatever. But I LOVE their music in games and in most anime I have seen. Which doesn't say a lot Maybe I am just not that much of a diehard anime fan...
I was going to start watching Little Busters Refrain, but Bokurano's so intense that I probably should find something comedic to balance it out. My goodness Bokurano is fantastically tragic - it reminds me of the old high-ropes courses at school camps where some kids took it easily and others freaked out. I can't believe how accurately the mangaka portrayed that dynamic, although it does get a lot darker as it goes on.

It's Google Gogol, stealing our Liberty. They couldn't have made that point more obvious (but I'm sure they'll try). They even use Google Gogol maps to plan their space routes.

Yeah, Space Dandy is a crazy slapstick comedy. I like it, since I grew up with that sort of comedy, but it's not for everyone, and not really worth staying up late for...

You just need to give them a chance to grow on you. I hated Japanese songs for years, but now it makes up 50% of my iPod music library.
Actually, I could say that about a lot of things. Some things, especially music, can be off-putting at first because its different, but once you get used to it, it's actually pretty enjoyable. Sure, it's always a slow and (at first) painful process, but I've always found it to be worth it in the end, as it opens you up to a much broader experience.
For J-music, maybe you should start with J-Rock, since that usually takes a lot from western rock music. If nothing else, it'll get you used to hearing music in Japanese, so you'll be more comfortable listening to other types of Japanese music.
As for the song itself, I like it a lot, it's really cheery and energetic, which is how I like my music most of the time. I tried not to watch the animation, since I'm not quite that far yet, but I'll probably start watching One Piece again in April.
@Jollykarp oh my lord I adore your avatar so damn much, lol.
I really need to start Space Dandy soon! Reactions overall seem to be... Disappointing, but it sounds like something id enjoy. I've suddenly gotten the urge to watch Beck as well. I've known the opening song for years but only recently thought of watching the show after watching the op yesterday, the style is really nice. I hear something about having to continue with the manga though, so that's off putting.
Also, Saturn Apartments vol. 2 came in the mail! but that's it.. Only vol. 2. I'm still waiting one 1.
That's it, I'm skipping the rest of the Zanpacuto ark does anyone know what episode it's over?
I'm after Murumasa was beat, and the main story in the arc is over, I started up the episode after that again, and it looks like it won't be the last episode. I just can't watch this for more than one episode.
