Topic: Angry Birds getting a TV Show!?!

Mikael Hed, CEO of Rovio Mobile, has envisioned a feature film in the stop-motion animation style of Aardman Animation. To that end, Rovio has purchased a Helsinki-based animation studio to prepare Angry Birds short cartoons on Nickelodeon, the first of which was a Christmas special named "Wreck the Halls" that debuted on Nickelodeon in December 2011. Rovio also hired David Maisel, executive producer of Marvel Studios films such as Iron Man and Thor, to head up production of feature-length films. Hed acknowledges that such a film would be years away, and that Rovio must keep the characters relevant until then, by producing sequels or new ports of the original game.Rovio officials have hinted that one such "sequel" will be told from the pigs' point of view. Oh good gosh this is just not right. Sorry angry bird fans but a tv show is just not right. If it didn't work for Mario, link, or sonic then leave video game tv shows alone.

If it's claymation, then I might watch it, since they said that they want to go for an Aardman Animation look.

I doubt i'd watch it personally, but I can totally see it working as an animated show.

Sonic Colors and Sonic Generations (console versions) got good reviews and good sales.

The Super Mario Bros. cartoons were campy and childish, but I still loved them. At least they got the character designs right, unlike the Super Mario Bros. Movie.

For the first time, I actually agree with you. No one ever expected a cheap indie flash game would become the next Super Mario phenomenon. I have to give props for Rovio for knowing how to market a franchise well, causing it to oversaturate the market and drive off all competitors.

That is... not how... anything works. Oversaturation is most definately not what Rovio wants, since it's kinda a bad thing.

It's cool to hate on games that are popular. Unless they're made by Nintendo, in which case they're innovative and we'd love to see catoons, manga, collectable goods etc etc made.,

Correction, Waltz. It's cool to hate on anything popular. Therein lies the creation of "hipsters" — who, ironically, actually should be hated.

Angry Birds? This show needs to be removed off television, have its tapes burned and mauled by bloodthirsty rabbits, and haves its creator burned at the stake, surrounded by rotten cabbages.

In all honesty, as much as I'm not preferential to the game, I think it'd work as a TV show. It has the mojo. You all really shouldn't let your hate for "overly-popular rookie casual games" motivate you to gouge your eyes out, especially when you're not being forced to watch it in the first place.

Meh, there are other games more worthy of the spot of TV show. But hopefully this show will be a lot like these shorts:
