Last Thursday, for curiosity's sake, I decided to see how much Mario 3D Land cost on Amazon, even though I already had the game. When I was on the product page, I saw that the Amazon trade-in price was £23, and the game was being sold for around £25-£27 used (depending on condition). So I thought to myself "that is a freaking amazing deal!". So I loaded up a bunch of games I never play anymore (including 3D Land), put them all into a box, and sent them off on the Saturday.
Today I got the trade-in processed, and it looks like I got £115, basically for free for 15 old games (sent off 16, but they sent one back because I think I accidentally had my Mass Effect 2 disc in my Assassin's Creed 2 box). Since I was expecting £117 with all the items (since I thought some of them weren't "like new", but they said they all were, even my tattered Darksiders), I can safely say that Amazon trade-ins are infinitely better than any retail shop like GAME and Cex which do the same thing.
Even though I may sound like a complete Amazon ambassador here, it was extremely easy and was completely worth it. Seriously, it is amazing and I extremely recommend it!
But have any of you had any bad experiences with them? Comment below!
If Amazon had some place I could easily go to to trade in my games, I would totally do it. But as it stands, the box and shipping would cost more than the money I'd get back for the things I'd trade in.
In the UK at least, all you need to do is buy a postage box (cost me around £2.50 at Staples, but I needed a bigger one for a Wii Zapper), and you get a freepost label from Amazon when you submit the order, which you need to print it off and stick it on the box where the address would usually go. It seriously isn't hard or expensive at all in my experience.
You'll probably also need bubble wrap, but I had some lying around from when I had to send my Wii to get repaired (twice in one month, thank you very much Nintendo Repairs...)
Thats really cool.
I found out that Target stores are now taking video game trade-ins too.
I might have to see how much I'll get for my games one of these days.

It's worth shopping around for sure. Recently I compared Amazon's prices with Gamestops prices (with their +50% trade-in promotion) and they were comparable. Otherwise, I would have gone to Amazon. Ended up trading in nearly $300 worth of games. The trade-in money took a sizeable chunk out of the price of my Wii U's.
After submitting my trade ins, I found out they were giving extra money the week I submitted them by chance, maybe that had something to do with me getting so much
If anyone wants to trade in any games in the UK now, do it on Amazon before tomorrow for extra money!!! (There I go acting like an Amazon employee again...)
Seriously though, it is a very good deal. So good in fact I just made another trade-in request for Super Pokemon Rumble (got at GAME during Christmas sales, think it was the last game I ever bought from them actually) and Pokemon Black (already had Pokemon White, never got around completing it again). Getting £34 more for games I never play, awesome
I also saw you can get £18 for Galaxy 2, but I love that game too much to bring myself to get rid of it... Probably going to regret it the minute after the deal ends...
Even more pro-Amazon talk, so much in fact now I'm scared that TheBlackDragon will see this thread as me being an Amazon employee exploiting this forum for free advertising...
