It looks like the 3DS is already dropping in price on Amazon. $239 for a blue one and $229 for a black one. You can also preorder a price dropped 3DS for Aug. 12th.
Here is my question, fellow Amazon lovers. Let's say I do not have a 3DS; I do not want to pay near full price for said 3DS; and it would be nice if I could obtain said 3DS by midnight, August 11 to get ambassador status. Has anyone preordered a system from Amazon before? I hear many reports of games arriving before release dates, but would this happen with systems? Would I need to do 1 day shipping to make this work? Anyone have an idea about what my odds would be?
If they're not too great, I'll just keep watching around for price drops in stores, etc. If I can find a system for less than $210, I'll probably pick it up for the ambassador games. Otherwise, I'll skip it and just wait until the 12th.

@Token_Girl: Everything I have preordered on Amazon I got the release date. If it says the 12th I got it the 12th. Now it might depend on your mail delivery so I am not a 100% sure. I preordered World of Warcraft: Cataclysm and Super Mario All Stars for the Wii months in advanced and got them both on the release dates.
My tip for you is if you are looking to be able to take part in the ambassador program just get the 3DS now from a store that way you will be safe.

@108 Token Girl:- Yay! Join the club, you really won't regret it. Some people moan about the 3DS, but I think it's a great console. There's some nice goodies on offer at the eShop - and the freebies aren't bad either. I'd be going for OoT as my first game if I was buying the console at this time. Have fun, whatever your choices are
Still can't think of a better place to kill some time. Playing Solatorobo and Pokemon White. Waiting for Animal Crossing 3DS - it's taking forever.
Be weary as I saw an Aqua Blue 3DS and Black one on amazon but being sold by Target themselves. Not that Target is horrible, I like em- but keep that in mind in case.
BEST BUY is having 20$ off 3DS games this week, including Resident Evil Mercenaries.
I read that Dead or Alive is going to be only $20 too. If that is the case then I am definitely picking it up. Oh and Amazon will probably match these deals so this is a good week to pick up some 3DS games.

Amazon has Zelda: Ocarina of Time for $29.96 and I'll probably pick it up. They may have some other games on sale as well, but this is the only one I've really had my eye on. edit: and there is some pretty nifty Zelda 3DS "armor" on Amazon too from a company called PDP.

I think that means the lightning deal where every 3 hours a different video game is on sale. Sometimes you can get some really great stuff.

Amazom deal of the day(usa) is a 16GB sd card. Class 10 that sales for $18 today. Manage to pick up one this morning just in case I need to transfer files from my 8GB sd card for the 3DS. Although I still have 20,000 blocks left, but theirs always a chance the E-Shop could get amazing.
