Found another possibly interesting rumor:

'The console wars are like boobs: Sony and Microsoft fight over which ones look the nicest and Nintendo's are the most fun to play with.'

TuVictus

Can't watch the videos, anyone have a tl;dw of all the ongoing rumors right now?

@ThanosReXXX I think Square has potential this year. KH3 is unseen, FF7 may be a thing still? Octopath coming soon on Switch, who knows if they're doing anything Deus Ex related, there's still DQ11 for Switch to talk about (and for the west in general otherwise). They have a lot going on. The qestion is, is it ready? They could just come talk about mobile and more DLC for FF15.

I do agree that Sony's "big" years have already come to fruition so even in the best of times it's just logical that they're going to have to settle a little lower profile for now. They can't really wow, they can just sustain momentum. MS and Ninty can wow now.

If SE shows off more The World Ends With You - Final Remix, with release date that is close (August?) I will be very, very happy and consider they won this E3

I don't need much >

@MarcelRguez The thumbnail text doesn't do the video justice. He makes some valid points, but he could perhaps have used a bit less of a sensationalist text in the thumbnail. I think it was more a reference to what most people thought of it, not so much what he himself thinks, regardless of himself also being critical of Star Fox Zero.

@ThanosReXXX That last video is just a bunch of old rumours combined into one.

I'm expecting Microsoft to bring out the big guns, or at least a big gun. As much progress as they've made with Games with Gold, game pass and play anywhere titles, I feel people still treat them as the laughing stock of the generation, so I hope they surprise us all with this conference.

Their hardware is great (Xbox One X), their services are great (GamePass and EA Access), their customer friendly policies are improving all the time and there seems to be an air of righting their wrongs.

And yet the most important thing, and the reason why we buy consoles in the first place, are the games, which Microsoft seem to have a tough time of delivering. Even when they do put out the goods, they are rarely mentioned - or remembered - come the end of the year.

  • 2017 was dire. Halo Wars 2, Forza Motorsport 7 and asking people to cough up for an early access game in PUBG. Cuphead is blooming fantastic, but that game had very little to do with Microsoft themselves.
  • 2018 is ever so slightly better, with Sea of Thieves (fun for a couple of hours, although it’s a surprisingly shallow game) and the follow up to one of the jankiest game known to mankind, State of Decay 2.

In all of that time, the Switch has had ARMS, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 2, Super Mario Odyssey and Xenoblade Chronicles 2. This year has been rather quiet for the Switch, but Kirby Star Allies and Labo offers two totally different experiences.

The PlayStation 4 had even more, with the likes of Everybody’s Golf, Gran Turismo Sport, Gravity Rush 2, Horizon Zero Dawn, Nex Machina, NieR: Automata, Nioh, Persona 5, Pyre, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, WipEout Omega Collection, Yakuza 0... and both Shadow of the Colossus and God of War this year, the latter of which is the best game of the year so far on any system.

I guess I am in the same boat as @MisterPi ~ show everybody the games please, even if they are not due out until this time next year. I often keep my expectations low for Microsoft E3 shows however, I sincerely hope they bring the goods this time round!

@NEStalgia Square Enix said recently that Deus Ex is still something that will live on, but don't expect anything from it anytime soon. The studio in charge with that franchise are currently in charge of Tomb Raider's next game.

I am still not convinced Kingdom Hearts 3 is this year, it's Square Enix - it needs at least 10 more years of development . As for DQ11 - that definitely will be in their presentation but with the Switch version being delayed, it won't be talked about, just the PS4 version. Have they even mentioned when the Switch version is supposed to release?

@FragRed Ahh, makes sense on DX. Shame, I was hoping for the trilogy soon. They're banking on TR so heavily.

LOL, you know I really respect a company that will delay a game a decade plus until its done. However, with Square Enix they take 10 years to release something as half baked and slipshod as Ubisoft and EA crank out in 4 years.

NEStalgia

FragRed

@NEStalgia Yep and then they spend another 10 years updating said game with the second half in the form of DLC. That's right FF15, I went there

@Octane What, the Pokémon one? Could be, not that much of a die hard fan, but I came across it, and it sounded new to me, so I decided to post it. But anyone is obviously free to ignore or skip over whatever part of whatever video is already known to them...

@MisterPi Why can't you watch the videos? Or do you not WANT to watch any videos?
As far as a summary of them is concerned: most combine rumors with what is known so far for all three parties, to make a sort of "ultimate" or final, if you will, E3 show and reveal list. So, there are quite a few titles in there for all three systems that we already know, some that are known but not confirmed yet, and some that are rumored but not confirmed (or denied) by any means.

Not going to make an entire list of all that is shown in those videos, though.Sorry. That's a bit too much work, and the very reason that I decided to post the videos in the first place, so if you REALLY want to know, then I guess you'll just have to watch them...

I've been re-watching previous E3 presentation and have been speculating on what Nintendo and other publishers (Ubi, Bethesda) may announce and talk about this year for Switch. Last year, I made kind of a list that broke down things in tiers, from confirmed to absolutely not happening. So I thought I'd do that again. Again, these are predictions, not confirmations of anything.

Confirmed:
Smash Bros for Switch: I personally think Smash Bros. Switch is a new game. I'm sure it'll improve on things in Smash Wii U, but I don't think it's just simply a blend of Smash Wii U and 3DS content in one package. If it was, I don't think we would be having a full-blown tournament for it, and I think they would have announced as just a port, if it was.

Just Dance 2019: This is a no-brainer. Definitely gonna be announced.

Highly Likely:
Mario Tennis Aces: Mario Tennis Aces launches on June 22nd, and it's been heavily featured in previous Directs. I think that they'll have a short plug to remind viewers to go out and buy it.

Third Party Reel: With Wolfenstein 2, Project Octopath, Dark Souls Remastered and other smaller third party games being announced in the past, I expect them to have a little sizzle reel to remind fans what third party offerings they have. Games like Octopath might receive their own segment, but I think Nintendo will want to focus mainly on first-party content.

Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion: Nintendo will most likely feature Splatoon 2 Octo expansion content, similar to what they did with the Ballad of the Champions for BotW last year.

Fire Emblem Switch: If this game is going to launch in 2018, as announced back in the FE Direct last February, then this game needs to be shown at E3. I'm expecting a fall or winter release. Aside from that, I'm not sure what to expect.

Online Details: Expect more info for the online service, such as how the monthly selection of games works, as well as a possible Virtual Console replacement.

Possible:
Pokemon Switch: Rumors have been swirling about the next Pokemon game. I think that it'll be announced the week before E3, similar to last year's USUM announcement. If it launches in 2018, which I doubt, then it'll have to be a November release. I personally think it'll launch in March, similar to Black and White. And I think the most recent rumor of "Pokemon Let's Go!" is bogus.

Metroid Prime 4: We might receive another trailer for this game, but I'm not expecting much aside from that. Expect a 2019 or later release.

Bayonetta 3: Similar to above, we've only seen a short trailer at the Game Awards back in December. Don't expect much.

3rd Party Ports: 3rd party companies like Ubi, EA, and Bethesda might announce more ports, such as Fallout 4, the Division, FIFA 19 and more.

Wii U Ports: Ports might include Xenoblade X, Mario Maker and New Super Mario Bros. U.

Fortnite Switch: Battle Royal shouldn't be too difficult to port, as it runs on Unreal Engine 4, and it can run on current mobile phones, so I don't see Epic passing on increasing the player base.

Star Fox Grand Prix: It's possible, as a number of gaming outlets have discussed the game. I'll withhold judgement until I see the game.

Highly Unlikely:
CoD Black Ops IV: I don't think that CoD BlOPS IV will be making it to Switch in any way. I don't see Activision trying to make a decent port, so we won't be getting anything CoD related.

Shin Megami Tensei V: Very little of this game is known, and it's early in development, so I don't see anything being announced here. Possibly TGS in September.

Kingdom Hearts III: I doubt anything will be announced for Kingdom Hearts III for Switch.

Not Happening:
Mother 3: It's literally never coming West, so don't get your hopes up.

Persona 5: I know a lot of people wonder why this game isn't on Switch, and it's because Sony essentially owns Persona, or at least the mainline games. I don't see any sort of port being possible.

F-Zero: If the Star Fox Grand Prix rumor are true, then having an F-Zero game in development at the same time is silly.

@FragRed I started to go there, got to the entrance, then turned around and figured I'll return when they finish building it and reduce the entrance fee

@Monado_X "Mother 3: It's literally never coming West, so don't get your hopes up." We say that until they some day announce it in a direct in mid-Feburary with no hype or warning.

NEStalgia

Monado_X

@NEStalgia, Fair enough, I just don't see it happening anytime soon. Granted, I said the exact same thing about Metroid Prime 4 in last year's E3 thread, and I was wrong. We'll just have to see.

Monado_X

FragRed

@Monado_X Just want to say, I don't think we will be getting Fallout 4 on Switch. That game is massive and struggles to run on current generation consoles. In addition, with the Division 2 now being a thing that is happening, I also don't see the first coming to the Switch - or the second. In fact outside of Just Dance and maybe that Skylink game (if that even exists still), I am not expecting anything from Ubisoft.

Monado_X

@FragRed Good point, however, I didn't expect Doom or Wolfenstein 2 at all, and yet, we're getting them. I'm sure if Panic Button could get those two games on the Switch, then Fallout 4 should be doable. But who knows. As for Ubi, it would make sense for them to make a boneheaded move and port the first game but not the second. The first one runs on snowdrop, like Mario + Rabbids, so they could most likely downgrade the graphics somewhat to get it running. But again, who knows that they'll do.

Updated Nintendo predictions:

  • Smash Bros
  • Yoshi
  • Fire Emblem
  • Star Fox Grand Prix
  • Pokemon
  • Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion
  • Xenoblade 2 Story Expansion
  • Super Mario Odyssey DLC
  • Third party ports

Things like release dates for the Mario + Rabbids DLC or TWEWY will be separate. I'm gonna say Ridge Racer 8 is real, but not revealed until later this year.

Bold prediction: TWEWY 2 is revealed in Square's conference, coming exclusively to Switch in 2019.

@MarcelRguez
Ark Survival Evolved is coming to Switch and that game doesn't run at 60 fps on other consoles so we'll see how that turns out.

Switch FC: SW-4227-6363-7321
Online games:
Rocket League, Splatoon 2, NBA Playgrounds, Fortnite

Favourite single player games:XC2, Skyrim, TLoZ: BotW

Monado_X

@MarcelRguez Wouldn't that logic mean no Wolfenstein 2 or no DOOM for Switch? Again, if Bethesda is willing to port those two, as well as Skyrim, I'd say that Fallout 4 is possible.

Monado_X

Monado_X

@MarcelRguez I still think Fallout 4 is possible. While not the best example, they ported Skyrim over, and it's closer in looks to the PS4/XBONE than the PS3/360 version. It's also an open world RPG, like Fallout 4. I don't see why it wouldn't work/
