Topic: All-Encompassing E3 2018 Thread

It's really hard to say. On one hand, this feels like the right time. On the other hand, I don't know how much they could have done by now, considering Animal Crossing is the same team as Splatoon.

That's definitely true. On the other hand, they do have a lot of assets that they could use from Amiibo Festival, and they reused a lot of assets for Splatoon 2 as well, so who knows?

One thing that does make me more unsure is the whole Octo Expansion thing. That had to have taken a decent chunk of time to make.

@KirbyTheVampire remember, Happy Home Designer was made by same team that did New Leaf, HHD and Splatoon released the same year. so it's possible that will still get An Animal Crossing Switch.

I do hope that bamco steps up on the fighting games for switch. I would at least like to see SCIIHD for switch and a port of 4 or 5 (please 4....5 was a train wreck but I'll buy it if forced to). I'm unfortunately not a Dragonball fan so I'm just waiting on them to do something non Smash related.

@Ryu_Niiyama SC2 is my favorite fighting game of all time. Would be amazing if they brought that over!! Hated 4 and 5 but looking forward to the new one, hope that gets a date at e3

Given that they've already announced Smash, Pokemon, Fire Emblem, Metroid Prime 4 and Bayonetta 3 and we've seen no footage of any of them, I think it's like Haru said and they won't really announce anything new but will just show us most of these games.
There's also that Yoshi game, the Xenoblade story DLC and whatever Retro are doing. I think they've pretty much got a full plate. Not much space for anything new.

That whole Star Fox + F-Zero rumor does seem to keep quite a few sites pretty busy.
They even dug up a picture with some actual logos:

Imagine the shock and horror if it actually turns out to be true...

It could possibly become another Federation Force or Mario + Rabbids situation again...

@ThanosReXXX To be fair, Mario + Rabbids turned out to be a good game. I don’t know about FF but the former I enjoyed quite a bit.

@MarcelRguez They are just gonna switch it up and change genres. From now on, Starfox will be a huge succes as a racer. Fzero will be a hugely popular beat em up.

@Spanjard I know, and I wasn't being negative, I just wanted to point out that people responded to it negatively at first, when the rumor turned out to be true, and initially also believing that it couldn't be true, but once it was, and once they showed the game and people got to play it, it turned out to be a really great game.

The same thing could happen with Star Fox Grand Prix, if it's true. And I've even heard quite a few people say that Federation Force is a good game, if people don't focus too much on the Metroid Prime logo or the super-deformed characters in it, and actually PLAY the game, so who knows?

As for it becoming a beat em up: Captain Falcon certainly looks like he could holds his own in a fight..

@KirbyTheVampire Nobody has even rumored Animal Crossing, and yet it seems so odd they'd release the mobile game without a console game since their stated point of mobile games is to drive interest in consoles.

@NEStalgia I'd count the official Animal Crossing site changes as potential evidence towards Animal Crossing Switch.

@MarcelRguez That genre is already taken by the yet to be announced at E3, Duckhunt 2: The revenge of the Quack.

@ThanosReXXX I get what you’re saying and I agree. For me, the more weird the better. They really need to do something different with Starfox, so I would approve any change. The racing might work like a Sonic racing game where you switch between vehicles(landmaster, arwing, chicken?) with some shooting in between. Could be really fun.

Nintendo confirmed that it'll feature in their presentation when they recently outlined their E3 plans...

...I think that it's the only game we know for certain will appear (in Nintendo's own presentation at least) - the rest is just educated guess-timation

Let's heap on those rumors. After all: some Star Fox Grand Prix logos just ain't enough...

@MarcelRguez Have you watched it or are you just commenting on the video's thumbnail? For what it's worth: I like the game as well, but it definitely caused a lot of turmoil and discord amongst gamers, so it'll more than likely always be a highly debatable title.

As for your prediction: I don't see Square even coming remotely close to having the best show. I find their latest outings to be decidedly underwhelming, and I can't see that changing anytime soon. And they're also treating Nintendo and it's gamers worse than they deserve, so far as I'm concerned, they're already losers.

My money is on Nintendo and Microsoft. Nintendo because they're in the winning lane already, and Microsoft simply because they HAVE to, so it's do or die for them, and the inside intel is that they themselves feel like this is going to be one of the best E3 presentations they've ever given, so I'm expecting it to be really solid.

I'm expecting Microsoft to bring out the big guns, or at least a big gun. As much progress as they've made with Games with Gold, game pass and play anywhere titles, I feel people still treat them as the laughing stock of the generation, so I hope they surprise us all with this conference.

@MarcelRguez LOL, you're right, I just noticed "Watch as some of the top Super Smash Bros. players from around the globe battle it out on Nintendo Switch".....so they announced Smash on Switch indirectly.

Though they didn't say new game, it may still be Smash 4 port.
