@KirbyTheVampire Of course we're looking at exclusives on consoles, not PC. I don't have a current or next gen PC, and a lot of people don't play games on PC either, if they already have a console, so that doesn't matter in this discussion or the point I'm making. And the Xbox One X is the most powerful console ever made, period.
I know several people who made the jump from the normal Xbox One to the X, and they all note the considerable difference in both graphics and performance, AND options. And even here on this site, there are people that can attest to that, like @NEStalgia, and he's also not much of a PC gamer, so...
And like he said, the games are Microsoft exclusives, so console or PC, you still won't see them on a Sony console. But it is indeed a taste thing. Most people and the general media agree that Microsoft had a great E3 presentation, and it really had quite a lot of diverse titles, so there should, for all intents and purposes, be something there for everyone. Unless for some weird reason, they have something against the platform or its manufacturer...
And I stand by my statement that Sony really has to bring it, because they cannot do less than Microsoft has now shown, regardless of them currently being the leading platform.
But on with the show. This is not the Microsoft vs Sony thread after all...
Bethesda's show was good, in my opinion. (not Microsoft good, but leagues better than EA's hot mess) Lots of solid titles, some nice surprises, possibly also for the Switch, and the show was presented with a nice dose of humor, that was actually funny, contrary to a lot of the other scripted stuff that happens on conventions like these. I liked how Todd Howard likened E3 to a child growing up. It was a nice and funny metaphor.
Well, next up today is Ubisoft. Wonder if they will show some Switch stuff...

@redd214 I can perfectly disconnect my personal feelings about Sony from what they're releasing game-wise. Most of the titles you mentioned are already here, so these don't count for the point I was making. Is Sony going to reveal an equal or bigger amount of games NOW, or not? If not, then they fail, plain and simple. You can''t stay ahead by sitting on titles that are already known, and so far, Microsoft is WAY ahead of them in several ways.
And of course, Microsoft HAD to, because of them having performed so badly during the Xbox One's launch, and trailing behind ever since, but they certainly delivered now, so I really do think it's going to be tough for any company to beat that.
But I wish all companies well, regardless of personal feelings. If all of them thrive, it's better for the industry at large, so there's no use in wishing any of the three to disappear or go bankrupt.
I certainly hope Nintendo also has some nice surprises up it's sleeve, or will at least show some LONG awaited titles. (come on, Pikmin 4... )
Gotta admit after that xbox conference I am definitely getting an X instead of building another PC for the bf. $450 for 4k gaming instead of $600+ alone for the video card in a pc? With enhanced BC, it's a bargain for me
I have a feeling, based on the strong showings from Bethesda pulling a Metroid Prime 4...twice...and Xbox having a kickass show, that if Ubisoft, SquareEnix and Sony all have even just decent shows, Nintendo cant hold up.
What is pretty hype for Nintendo fans is actually in the grand scheme of things this year....kiiinda lacklustre. A casualised Pokemon game and Smash.

"Xbox One X is the most powerful console ever made, period."
Um...
I think for some peoples, even Xbox One X was the most powerful console ever made, but they have NO games like Nintendo has. Where is Kawaii games with Japanese touch ?
Where is Cute Casual games from Xbox 1 ?
I found (Almost) Nothing.
Powerful of all doesn't equal with better games library in my opinion.
For me the machine was like a Paper weight rather than an Useful machine like Nintendo.
Sorry, no offence. Just my opinion.
Seems like I'm perhaps in the minority here, but I have Bethesda 'winning' E3 so far.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the Microsoft conference a lot - and they certainly got some important messages across...but it seemed to lean too heavily on the future rather than the here-and-now (IMO) - and, as cool as the moment was, I thought it was a bit of a strange choice for one of the 'Big 3' to close their show with a multi-platform release (in the shape of Cyberpunk 2077) ..overall, I give them a B+
The games that Bethesda showed off were more to my tastes (no surprise, they're one of my favourite publishers) - and the whole event felt a bit more energetic and exciting to me ..there was a bit of a lull in the middle when the focus shifted to DLC and content updates for existing games - but then they brought it home with the back-to-back-to-back triple-whammy of Fallout 76, Starfield and Elder Scrolls VI - and my hype-meter just went off the scale! ..doesn't leave me much wiggle room, but I'm gonna have to grade them an A
(In hindsight, I'm going to be generous and leave my score for EA as 'Ungraded'...we'll - um - just move on! )
...it's been a pretty enjoyable festival of gaming so far though - man, I wish I was there! Can't wait to see what delights are still to come!
Sony won't have any surprises, but it will have four big games. If Nintendo managed to pull it off with one, Sony can do it with four highly anticipated games.
Ubisoft can surprise us, but they can also rethread most of their sequel games (Division 2, AC Odyssey, etc.), though they have confirmed we'll be getting another look at Beyond Good & Evil 2 (and I guess also at Skull & Bones and Starlink). Maybe there's a surprise or two!
Same is true for Square, but they have the Avengers game. And who knows what they're working on. FFVII will be there as well I think.
Nintendo has the biggest chance to surprise us if they ignore that ''exclusively 2018 games'' thing they said. Otherwise it's hoping for the best. Smash, and FE are new (I hope). We may get another look at Pokemon, and Yoshi, well, if that can surprise me at this point, good on them
@Octane I think that's why Nintendo will, EA exempt at least, have the weakest show. That cockiness of only 2018 games. Woo. A whole 6 months of content Vs throwing 2018/19 and beyond out there.

@NaviAndMii I thought Bethesda did well overall even though I have no interest in majority of their games. Only game they showed I would probably get myself would be Rage 2. I get the rest are very popular just not I to them. There were a lot of typical press conference cringe moments though. The Andrew WK thing was just off putting for example but I thought they did well as a whole.
@Tsurii
But, different gamers expect for different kind of games, like myself.
Unlike typical male gamers, i did the opposite.
I expect for Cute & Casual games from good machine.
I don't care with power (but as long still strong enough) , i do really care with how many games that will appeal me. If almost no games impressed me, i will never consider the machine.
@ThanosReXXX To be fair, those third party games had to be shown somewhere. With Sony opting for a conference pretty much entirely on four first party games, Microsoft was the option.
@Octane Sony need some impressive gameplay to beat Microsoft's 4K demonstrations (although I consider slapping everything on the XBoxX cheating the average Xbox owner!)
I never drive faster than I can see. Besides, it's all in the reflexes.
@Tsurii Exactly. Thanks.
Grown men playing only girly games. Pffff...
@Octane Well, it's E3, it's THE event to reveal stuff, normally. Surely there'll be some surprises? Or perhaps they'll wait until TGS? Either way, they can't just sit on what they have. Nintendo is and will always be an anomaly, so you can't compare Sony to them. Sony needs to keep the race going, so they need to stay ahead of Microsoft, and they can't do that with just the 4 known titles, no matter how big or good they are.
'The console wars are like boobs: Sony and Microsoft fight over which ones look the nicest and Nintendo's are the most fun to play with.'
@IceClimbers Ah, good to know. I'll look up when it starts, then. I do try to watch all of it, but it's a bit of a hassle with the broadcasting times, some days. Didn't get much sleep after Bethesda, which ended at 4.45am over here...
'The console wars are like boobs: Sony and Microsoft fight over which ones look the nicest and Nintendo's are the most fun to play with.'
Can Sony really spend an entire event just on 4 games? I don't know, Nintendo could easily spend the entire Direct just on Smash but are the 4 games Sony said would be at the conference be suitable for like 30-45 minute on stage demos?
Given Microsoft mentioned about new hardware, do you think Sony may tease the PS5?
@ThanosReXXX
"Grown men playing only girly games."
Because why not ?
I'm also interested watching America's Next Top Model series from Cycle 7 - 24.
And.... Sailor Moon was my idol when i was 11 - 12 years old.
@redd214 Yeah, I hear you Similarly with myself and the Xbox conference...I'm not much of a fan of the likes of HALO, Gears Of War or Kingdom Hearts 3, myself - but I totally recognise how big of a deal those games are for people - and I was more than happy to sit back and enjoy each of the glitzy trailers for those titles in all of their glory (even if the games themselves weren't quite 'up my alley') ..they both put on great shows though - really enjoyable! ..Bethesda just edge it for me because they showed off a few more things to my particular tastes - but I couldn't argue if others have it in reverse
@CanisWolfred good point about the online everything..... i don't get i personally. Is it just forced social marketing and peer pressure? Why is everything online now? Eso is a legit mmo.... i don't mind it being online, that's the core design.... But the rest is not. One key note is Bethesda is zenimax..... An mmo company mostly. Maybe corporate is putting their foot in their necks
Oh dear, I didn't think of that...that's a good point, and quite troubling if true...
Halo 5 coming to pc and Halo infinite is split into 2 parts. Single player in 2019, MP in 2020.
@NaviAndMii same here. Many of the games shown so far in all of E3 don't speak to me personally, I just enjoy the event as a gamer. It's just exciting overall even if it's stuff I don't like, I know there are others that are over the moon excited about them so makes me happy! Like Gears for example, I have no interest in the franchise but man I'm excited for people that are, they got 3 games announced in a few minutes!
