What was the point of that idiotic #SavePlayer1 video Bethesda made last year? With this always online Fallout they announced, the game just goes against every point that video was trying to make. I guess i'll go play New Vegas again for the 80th time. RIP Fallout.
The Harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.

I wouldn't go that far, but just like with Elder Scrolls Online...why should I care it exists? Especially if it's a stop-gap, anyways. I know I don't just want a game that I can technically play without having any friends...but still forces me to interact with other people, because sorry kid, we can't give everyone a server to themselves!
I want games that are made with singleplayer in mind, with design choices centered around keeping you immersed in the experience. Bethesda was really good at that, even with the glitches
...but now, between Quake Champions, ESO, Prey Multiplayer, Co-Op-focused Wolfenstein, the mobile garbage, and now Fallout: Getting Rusty With 76 Other Players! Edition, they had more online-focused content than even Microsoft. This is just a depressing heel turn.
So I like how Respawn couldn't even put up a logo for their new Star Wars title coming next year, yet Bethesda goes and announces TWO next gen titles with logos/teasers.
@Dezzy Yeah, Bethesda announced awhile back that current gen consoles weren't capable of supporting their plans for TES VI. So no surprise that it's going to be a 9th gen title from me.
@Dezzy It’s kinda weird but the same can be said about GTA the way things are going. Development time for the big triple A titles, especially open world games, is taking longer and longer as more can be, and is expected, to be done with each release.

Did anyone here talk about Devolver Digital's presentation? I enjoyed it and was thrilled to see Metal Wolf Chaos finally make it to the States. Definitely picking it up. Too bad it's not for Switch.
Bethesda freaking won e3 with Skyrim very special edition. First fall down laughing (for the right reasons) moment in e3 history.
New tes for 2036, yay! I can wait. Eso will last until then. Not sure about fallout 76.... No vats if mmo... Not sure how it'll really work. It's not an mmo, not an rpg.... Seems shaky. Like fallout anthem edition. Surprisingly large switch love even if it's mobile games.... There mobile games coming to ps4 and switch... So.... That makes ps4 the inferior console port.
@KirbyTheVampire yeah i agree, Sony had way more/bigger scale exclusives ... I'm to the point that the ps4pro is for exclusives and freebies, and x1x is for everything else. And switch for whatever comes to it.... Vespyria and shining resonance were introduced to be by ms, bought on switch ps4 still had a big back log just in exclusives for me. Including nier....grrr not exclusive now.
@CanisWolfred i was about to say it sounds like you need an xbox instead...... Then saw the last line
@CanisWolfred good point about the online everything..... i don't get i personally. Is it just forced social marketing and peer pressure? Why is everything online now? Eso is a legit mmo.... i don't mind it being online, that's the core design.... But the rest is not. One key note is Bethesda is zenimax..... An mmo company mostly. Maybe corporate is putting their foot in their necks
I wasn't really interested in anything Bethesda showed. Although Rage 2 looked a lot better in-game than in-trailer. Looked similar to the first one, which I enjoyed.
@GrailUK It is to be expected as Microsoft themselves teased they are working on next generation hardware in their own conference as well as this article (https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2018-06-11-a-chat-with-phil-spencer-about-next-gen-xbox-consoles) and remember that Watch Dogs was first teased as the first glimpse of next generation hardware when it was revealed. So this is not out of the blue.

@GrailUK For games that are a long ways from being released such as Cyberpunk, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Halo Infinite, and whatever follow-up Guerilla has for Horizon: Zero Dawn (Second Sun?) I'm guessing they would get the Breath of the Wild treatment where it's a simultaneous release for current and next gen systems. If they are originally released for PS4/X1 then they will inevitably be ported/remastered for next gen a la GTA 5, The Last of Us, Tomb Raider, Dishonored, etc. etc. etc.
@Dezzy From their recent trailer: ''1. When? When we told you we would only release the game when it's ready, we meant it. We're definitely much, much closer to a release date than when we were back then , but it's still not the time to confirm anything, so patience is still required. Quality is the only thing that drives us - it's the beauty of being an independent studio and your own publisher.''
So they're closer to a release date than five years ago (obviously), but it's still not coming anytime soon, at least, that's how I interpret it.

The console makers are always looking ahead... but I think we can expect shorter cycles (2-3 years) and old games will work on newer HW. The interview with Phil seems to underline just that.
Yeah, that's kinda saying nothing at all. In my mind, I'm imagining late 2019/early 2020. I just think when a game has been in development for a particular platform for 5 years, it's almost definitely gonna come out on that platform.
