Haven't watched G4 in years, but with this, it's just another nail in the coffin when it comes to video games on the network.
I used to love the network. Between old XPlay, Icons, Cheat, Cinematech, and the like, it was my favorite channel. Then they up and became "Spike TV 2" as far as I'm concerned. The only thing left was XPlay, but that really went downhill (no more humor, developed a STRONG bias for western devs, only cared about a game if it was an FPS, MMO, or iOS release). Maybe Sessler finally found a worthwhile gaming news organization to join.

Used to love cheat and then it got downgarded from show to short. But I blame the lack of cheats this gen on that.
True, but they also covered Easter eggs, references, and "non cheating" tips on how to find or do something, and modern games still have plenty of that. Also, with classic games thriving on Virtual Console and XBLA/PSN, they could have revisited some classic examples.

I didn't have internet or even a working computer for most of 2006 so I am glad G4 didn't completely suck until shortly(?) afterwards. Some of their other shows were cool, expecially that one that showed the history behind games I didn't actually know about at the time (my favorite being the ESRB episode despite some idiot not realizing that PG13 and T were for the exact same ages). Lack of internet is the main reason I got Nintendo Power...again, btw.
After Olivia Munn left AOTS, I stopped watching G4 all together so this news doesn't bother me much. Plus, he was a Zelda hater so that pretty much amplifies my lack of care.

I quit watching shortly before she left. Eh had good times with both atos and xplay.

The show is Game Makers and I've been looking around trying to find old episodes of them
Anywho, I remember when XPlay officially switched over to their more serious stuff while leaving their comedic past behind them for old summer reruns of the show. I remember a few of their special, (and I still have them on DVR), but I stopped watching after they became more "serious". Most of their reviews of games I did not agree with, they were very biased for western games, and did not really care all thatmuch fro Nintendo, which while 2008 was an abysmal year for the Wii in my opinion, they still did not give the legitimate coverage of them during shows like E3 or even the recent N64 special, which was the only time I've seen the show since the 1000th episode (which reminds me to this day how much XPlay has fallen).
Sessler, I can't wait to see what you do outside of XPlay, and please bring back some of your originality back when XPlay was interesting in the early to mid 2000's.
FF6: Release year- 1994 Kefka's birthday - November 9th So.... my life is practically mirroring Kefka? Cool.

In regards to the whole "Game Makers" thing, try looking under "Icons" as well. That's what it was called before they started to move away from games (they renamed it "Game Makers", because they wanted to rebrand "Icons" as a pop culture show. That didn't last long).
