Also padding doesn't mean that it will reduce injury. It means there will be harder hits because they think nothing will come of it.
American Football has one of the highest rate of concussion.

It's quite obvious football has more strategy. For example, when you are on offense, you can either pass or run. On top of that, there are many different kinds of pass plays and rushing plays to gain as many yards as possible. When you are on defense, you can either blitz or do coverage. Football is very complex if you actually study it. Much more the Australian football, based on the games I have watched..
And about the injuries, many Americans actually died playing football in the early 1900's before they began enforcing padding and safety. So Americans have always been agressive when playing football, not just when wearing padding..
Joker, honey, you haven't played AFL, I wouldn't pretend I knew what strategy it did or didn't involve if I were you.
Also, American Football is only 'football' in America. The rest of the world has a bigger combined population than America. Ergo America doesn't get to claim ownership of 'Football'
Soccer is the real football. And if numbers count for anything, Rugby has a much bigger global audience than Gridiron, so it gets to be the 'second' football.
The best thing about Australian summer sport is the Aus Open.
