What I mean is, for example you can't give a game an 8.5. Only an 8 or a 9. This, to me, doesn't make a lot of sense. There's a big difference between a game that's an 8 and a game that's an 8.5, and I think that the current system forces the reviewer to either round up or down, which decreases the effectiveness of the review. Obviously, the most important part is the written part, but I think that the numerical score should reflect the review. Is there a reason why you guys don't do that?

To me, the score is a recommendation. Bringing decimals in basically turns it into a competition. (ZOMG, my game is a whole 0.1 points better than It's My Birthday!)

I think that it's My Birthday is so horrible, that the moderators do NOT want to review this game.

EXACTLY, i just argued this case here a few days ago and man i dont get it either. I say only have in betweens ( .5's ) instead of having .2s and .3.s and all the super tecnical ones cuz that will cause too much arguments like it shud be 8.2 not 8.1 and stuff like that. But i agree, slightly more detailed ratings whole numbers and .5's) is a great idea

[quote=Kid_A]Hey, just for all those who are being cute, I said that the scale should go up by .5's. Giving something an 8.6, or a 7.9 is just silly, I agree./quote] your topic is basically saying the exact same thing as mine then?

If we went to .5 increments people would want all decimal places. Then they'd want two decimal places. Then something else. So in the overall scheme of things, does it really matter?
Yes it does corbie as nerdy interwebys it's our duty to make things as difacult for you people as possable
Well you guys are doing a bang-up job. Keep up the good work.
I wish you guys would put the number out of your heads. Think of them as nothing more than that little sprig of parsley that some fancy restaurants put on your plate for decoration. Little sprinkly things on your cupcake. Just a nice little bonus. Oh and we're not going to a .5 system. Ever.
Alright Corbie. I certainly agree that the written review itself is more important, but I always thought that the score should accurately reflect the review. If nothing else, it helps my tiny brain comprehend all the big words, more. I jest. I always appreciate a well thought out and well written review. That's why I come here!
