@JaxonH They are visible in the new post. I can normally see your pictures so I don't know what the issue was with the last post. If you look at your own post in incognito I'm guessing you won't see the pictures either unless it is some regional thing.

Hey @antdickens what about putting a countdown to Switch 2 now that the MarioKart World Direct is over??

It's a small thing, but when you click the "Watch Topic" button, the following screen doesn't name the topic that you're about to watch. That could be a little improvement.

It also doesn't explain that you'll receive notification emails for new replies in topics that you're watching, something that's also not present under Account Settings -> Preferences -> Notifications.

Also spotted a small textual error under topics on the main menu, where it's displaying "Pokémon GO" instead of "Pokémon GO". This doesn't occur on the topics page.

I wouldn’t mind seeing a weekly feature highlighting a particular Nintendo game from any era. Perhaps having the title should be “Why You Should Play…”. It could be popular games, to underrated gems (Astral Chain), or games that haven’t been reviewed yet you took a random chance on it and liked it. I think doing this once a week would be awesome, similarly to the box art duel every Sunday.

@antdickens As you added in a timer for the Switch 2 launch, any chance of a timer for Summer Game Fest and the Xbox Games Showcase?

Summer Game Fest is June 6th 10pm BST and the Xbox showcase is June 8th 6pm BST. Both will likely have Switch 2 news.

I wish there was a way for users to submit cover images for games that don't have them (and the site staff would either approve or reject them).
A lot of my games don't have cover images.

Would it be possible to add more mobile games to Games Collection? There are some mobile games you can add, but I saw they are only Nintendo-developed mobile apps. There are a few games I have played, such as phone ports of console games (e.g. the phone ports of the Classic Sonic games) and mobile spin-offs based off on game series that I would like to add to my games collection.

Hello.
I would like to see some article that discussing about Arcade games as some people still like to play Arcade games that mostly never available on home consoles such as Mario Kart GP, Mario Kart GP DX, Sound Voltex, Dance Dance Revolution, Gitadora, MaiMai DX, etc.
I curious to see what games that Nintendolife staffs like to play on Arcade.
In UK, there are some Rhythm games community who still like to play Japanese Rhythm games such as DDR, MaiMai DX, Chunithm, Sound Voltex, Gitadora, etc.
I'm the audience for Arcade Rhythm games but unfortunately, the Arcade in my hometown Surabaya still lack of great Rhythm Arcade machines compared with my neighbor city Jakarta & Bandung which have better Arcade machine choices than Surabaya.
I would like to see if there is the Rhythm games community here from Nintendolife.

@Grumblevolcano Not a bad idea but when there were countdowns for the two Directs at once it was very cluttered so maybe not 3 at once.

I forget if this has been mentioned, but on a game page if you click 'all news' it only gives you the most recent 10 pages of news results. This makes it hard to find older articles about popular games. For example it doesn't show articles before Feb 2021 for animal crossing:

Edit: you can apparently manually edit the url and write page=15 but that seems less ideal than being able to click on it and isn't great for just scrolling back through articles.

@antdickens Hi there, I noticed when I post a YouTube video on here, it shows up as a blank thumbnail... I wonder why that happens and if that can be fixed? Tried posting a video on that "what are you listening to?" thread. Thanks and have a good one.

@MarioVillager92 YouTube returns the default thumbnail when we request a high-resolution one, but the one uploaded for the video isn't high resolution. It's more of a YT issue that one for us to solve, it's annoying though!

Being able to filter news articles by editor/author would be a great addition - either if you really prefer someone's coverage or the other way around, when you really don't care for a particular editor's writing

An 11/10 Collection. The games that changed the standard for gaming, and will inevitably still be great in 20 years.

Out of 15,000 Switch games, NintendoLife has only given a total of 30 10/10s so any 11/10s would be a subset of that. With that small of a number you're basically just doing a ranking list which Nintendo Life does quite often both in articles and yearly videos.

Actually if you look at Switch games NL reviewed 10/10 which also got a player average of 9+, there are only 8 games in the list. So maybe those are your 11/10s

Actually, there are not very many (across all Nintendo systems) that got a 10/10 and a user score of 9+. Gives an idea of how exclusive it is.

When a news article is updated with new information there's sometimes a bit of confusion in the comments, e.g. with people replying to older comments and not realising they're from before the article was updated. It's particularly noticeable in cases where the updated article contradicts the original, like the Bravely Default news today. So maybe in these scenarios the comment section could be split into sections from before and after updates to the article, with the latest section at the top?
