I was wondering who has taken the plunge into this title. I saw the trailer on the Nintendo Channel and it looks OK. I just have one nagging question about this game...does it support single card multi-player?? If anyone has downloaded this game, an answer to this question would be much appreciated

Well, since the DS hasnt had a new tennis game in like 2 years I °had° to download this title.
@ bboy: I thought I might have gotton a incomplete copy of the game because I lost my wifi connetion right when the game was wrap itself up. I dont see any type of multiplayer option on the main menu screen or in the help menu. None what so every. That multiplayer option that is in the trailer isnt on my copy of the game!
As far as the game play is goes the game runs really good despite have average(at best) graphics. 17 of each male and female players(no superstars) in quick match mode. They also have singles as well as doubles matches in that mode.
You can save up to 3 players in career mode. Create a player option has a lot of different clothes to chose from. Kinda funny when you go to upgrade your player one shirt is $1000. Everybody has the same serve and swings(1 and 2 handed back swings) 2 camera options which seem a little off.
of topic: wish i could write a little mofe, but dsi is about to die. Hope i helped a little

Thanks for the info! I dont think you got an incomplete download though. I looked at the game on the shop and it said "1 -Player." Thats really scummy though because the video on the Nintendo Channel clearly shows a multi-player option. I'm glad I didn't impulse buy this like a planned because the multi-player aspect was the determining factor for me. That's too bad, looked like it could have been a really solid purchase.

That trailer shows a face-off against the player vs a cpu. Guess people just misunderstood...

3 likes and dislikes about VT Tennis
Likes
1. Steep learning curve-you will have to use all types of shots to win points
2. Teeing off on the ball after the computer hits it out on your side gives you that extra motivation.
3. Watching you player run to and from the basellne to the net (and vice versa) will always put a smlie on your face.(awkward looking)

Dislikes
1. Nobody on this game represents a country. With all of the hard to pronouce names its a little sad that you will have to guess where everyone is from.
2.Everybody on the game is the same pretty much the same color.
3. With 2 camera options neither one of them tracks the ball more then 10 feet high. It makes hitting smash shots and volleys almost way to harder then it needs to be. You'll have to track the shadow of the ball and guess when to swing.
Overall this is a no frills type of tennis game that gets the job done for long or short playing sessions.
Edit: Glitch alert: In career mode your have the option of either contiuning or save and quit between each round of play. Everytime you use the save an quit option and try to start your career back up from you last game, well you wont be able to. Resulting in having to trash your player and start all over...

So.... it's a glitchy tennis game cash-in?

Wait, so it's impossible to save your career mode character?>

@ Elf: Since I discovered the glitch about five tournaments in it seems like as long as you have the time to sit down and finish each event you should be in the clear. Its only when you save and exit without finishing the whole event that this happens. As I posted early, you try to continue from where you left off with your created player and the game just freezes up.
off topic: Resently download this game over just to be 100% sure I dont get a bad copy or something. It still happened so maybe Nintendo will get a patch for this soon. Maybe by the time it drops in AUS. Another thing Ive also noticed about this download(which maybe nothing) is that the Dsi says this game takes up 92 blocks of memory, but only shows up as using 91.
sorry for rambling in this post
@ Honestly I kinda like the game because it isnt easy of master like Top spin 3(ds). Other then the mid tournament save fact and a suspect line call every now and then, (that always goes in your favor) the challenge of mastering this game its worth 500 Points imho. Gameplay runs really smooth and quick play mode is good for a match every now and again. A soild glitchy release
