Ok, yes, the romance novel itself does not appeal to me in the slighest. However, this is the same team that brought 100 classic book collection - a cartridge I still use, even though I have a kindle.

The reason it's good news is it may just mean that, in the future, we might get other novel genres - mystery collections, horror collections, fantasy collections? Awesome stuff! And the DSi XL would be a pretty damn good screen for it, I reckon.

Books...on a game?

No thanks.

If I wanted to read books, I'd go to a cocktail party. It's never gonna happen.

They seem a little expensive though.

A: Two, one to hold the light bulb, the other to rotate the universe.

Not really, the books themselves are cheaper than buying them in print, so you make your money back over about a year if you're a moderate reader. I probably read a book a week on it, it's far more convenient than carrying actual books around.

And no, it's not "books... in a game" it's "books... on DS" - there's nothing "game" about these.

100 Classic Books was really great (I can say that as an owner of it - so unlike some people here I'm not dismissing it without even seeing it in action), and I'm really glad to see there are more coming. As I said in the first post - while I'll pass on romance, I'd love for a fantasy or horror collection to come. (EA's also done a series of books for the kids - Flips I think they're called).

Maybe I'll look into Kindle a little more...I kind of like my books though...

WaltzElf - I agree with you. It is good to see that more books are coming out for the DS. I am still reading the novels on my 100 Classic Book collection as well. The romance stories of this disc don't appeal to me either, but it is hopeful now that more collections will come out. The book collection is great for when I'm commuting to and from work. It's one of the cartridges that I always carry with my DSi.

I Agree with you, Books are interesting since it's the oldest form of entertainment/ reading material but besides that Books focused on Story some games don't have a story to support the weight, what i mean is this games like Zelda and Golden Sun has impressive story telling since they (Nintendo) took it serious element within a game, while GTA (example) uses overused uninterested elements in which only the broken part aka the whole freedom of a sandbox game excuses it as a good product which it isn't.

Comparing any game to a book is like comparing a 10th-grader's clay pot to the statue of liberty.

Also, you're incorrect. Sports and art (games of strength and cave paintings) quite clearly predated books. Performance art and Theatre also predated the novel, by a long way.

And I'll think you'll find there are reading materials that predated the advent of books. Have a look at some walls within some ancient egyptian tombs, for a start.
