I am currently trying to develop a 16-long RPG in WarioWare DIY, any tips?
Could you go into more detail about what you're trying to accomplish? A Dragon Quest style battle system? A top down action game like Link to the Past?
The closest I've made is a Pokemon battle game where you fight against either a Squirtle (water type), Caterpie (bug type) or Slugma (fire type) and you have to tap the move in the menu that's super effective against it (options are water gun, flame wheel, thundershock, and splash).
As long as you can keep track of multiple switches and properly set up any RNG that you need, it's possible to make pretty much anything within reason in Warioware DIY.
I am trying to accomplish something like a top down action game where you level up when you tap on an enemy, too bad you can't store variables
I think they just want to make 16 microgames tied around the same concept, taking place in the same "universe".
For example, one is a turn based battle, other one is about the hero buying armor, another one is about entering the correct cave to slay the right beast, etc.
@Yosheel I already did that with a luck-based pinball game called PingPing Guy. You tap on PingPing Guy and he goes in a random direction, with bumpers that PingPing Guy bounces off of. I deleted those games since I can't control randomness. Also I meant 16-long as 16 seconds long.
I dunno. I believe we do have a DIY thread burried somewhere.
The whole thread would probably just be youtube videos and/or instructions on how to mod your DS or something though. I'm not entirely confortable with either option.
