That's one cool skin! That'll be replacing my champioonship 2011 skin... It's pretty cool, but I like Zoroark more than a skateboarding Pikachu with a 5 o'clock shadow (not that that's NOT awesome...).
There are a LOT of events in Japan, like shiny Hydreigon and Golurk, Special Reshiram & Zekrom, V-create Victini, Mewtwo, Singing and flying Pikachus. But we get... Snarling Zoroark... Banette... and Togekiss. That's it.

Well... it's a Pikachu that knows fly, iron tail, electro ball, and quick attack. So, its pretty special, with fly and iron tail.
Where did that flying Pikachu come from anyways? Did GameFreak just randomly decided "Hey let's make a special Pikachu that knows Fly! lawlz"? xD
I would say they took the Pikachu with the balloons on it's back from the yellow version opening and said, that's a flying Pikachu, so Pikachu got the power of flight

The Birthday Pikachu series was a set of promotional cards in the first generation TCG. It included Surfing Pikachu (Pikachu on a surfboard), Flying Pikachu (Pikachu with balloons tied to its back), and ___'s Pikachu (Pikachu with a birthday cake, with the gap left in the title for you to write your own name). Flying Pikachu has appeared in other media, such as Pokémon Yellow's intro and Pokémon Snap. It's not quite as well-known as Surfing Pikachu, but it still has history.
