Today, I bought a used blue Nintendo DSi off of Kijiji for $10 (if you're wondering why it was so cheap, it's because the cartridge slot didn't work). I could tell that this console was old because there were photos from the previous owner on the DSi from 2010. Anyway, they said in the ad's description that it had a brand new battery, but it's been showing signs of an aging battery pak. The first thing that I noticed is that the charging LED does not turn on (but I knew the DSi was charging, because when I plugged it in to a charger, the battery LED went from red to blue), and I thought to myself, "well, this is a $10 DSi, and it's aged quite a bit. I guess I can expect this to happen". The second thing I noticed is that when it did die, the battery LED wasn't flashing red, it just died all of a sudden. And now, it's taking ages to charge it. I've been charging it for an hour now, and it only lasts five seconds at the startup screen before it turns off again. I feel like when they said that it had a brand new battery, they meant that it was fully charged and they didn't actually replace the DSi's battery pak. Should I buy a new battery pak for the DSi online?
