Topic: Quick question about Zelda Phantom Hourglass & Spirit Track

Anti-Matter

I have never played these games as I didn't grow up by Zelda franchise, but somehow I found both of these games have cute Chibi design so I kinda curious to know.
The thing I found from these games were the using of touch screen of entire games, from directing Link to walk, giving command, everything looked point & click.
Is that gameplay style by using touch screen easy enough to play?
I was concerning about being full touch screen just for moving the characters and interact with other stuffs and not to mention both of these games are really expensive now.
Are those Zelda games on NDS worthy to buy & play with that pretty expensive price (1.5 - 1.7 Million Rupiah for the cheapest price I can afford for USA version, but around 500K Rupiah for Japanese version) and the touch screen for entire games?

Please some quick answer for me before I make a decision.

I didn't have any issues with the stylus controls, at least once I'd got beyond the point of instinctively reaching for the D-pad. They're pretty easy games to play and complete, so shouldn't present that much of a problem even if it's not your preferred control method.

As for whether they're worth it, that depends on how much of a fan you are, and I'd have them both towards the top of the bottom half of my ranking of Zelda games. I picked them up when they were relatively cheap but I'd probably think twice at current prices.

The Japanese versions indeed go for a substantially lower price, so are worth considering so long as you're proficient enough to read the text.

I actually just finished my very first playthrough of Spirit Tracks today (and replayed Phantom Hourglass earlier this month), so I was pretty surprised to see this topic pop up!

The touch controls take some adjustment for sure, but the difficulty in Phantom Hourglass is very gentle, and the touch controls are intuitive outside of the basic walking and attacking (which is a bit clunky but you get used to it). Spirit Tracks gets quite difficult though, it can get rather demanding with some intense actions later in the game - I would recommend maybe holding off on that one until you think you feel comfortable with PH. (Especially since ST is much more expensive than PH, at least in the US.) ST is the better game though, so I would recommend it if you want more of what PH offers.

Although honestly neither game is amazing. They surprised me in a few areas, but they're both fairly flawed.
