Topic: Plants vs Zombies!

So, popcap wanted to give us a surprise and they did.

I thought this game was going to retail only.

Do you plan to download it?
We would like some impressions!

Don't really know anything about it yet but I own almost every tower defense game on the dsi so this will probably be a no brainer for me!

My brother has bought several versions of this game (for his xbox, iphone and ipad), and it's great.
I would love to play it on a console of my own.

I just spent 1800 on Fieldrunners, Dark Void Zero, and Asphalt 4,now with only 200 left, I'm screaming FUUUUUUU--

That is one of my favorite games on STEAM so I'll probably purchase this if I ever get a 3DS.

This is probably my favourite PopCap game. If the dsiware version is decent I'll definitely be getting this..

i dont think there is a ZEN garden didnt see that in any pictures. also one of the mini games are gone.

it would be a shame, because the Zen garden would be perfect for DSiWare.
But it is a little unnecessary, so i wouldn't be surprised if it isn't included.

well if i wasted 800 pts on elemental masters i can waste 800 on this.... i was able to pick up 2000 pt cards for 15 bucks in the states saturday at meijers so i figure 800 pts would cost like 6 bucks cash.... so i downloaded it.. havent had time to play it yet... hopefully post some info around 9pm est tonight... I cant remember is the ZEN garden was hiden on the ds cart or not.... but when you go into extras its only the mini games nothing else is shown.... hopefully will be able to put down pokemon black to play this for awhile..... hopefully its good cause it took my entire march pt purchase (trying to limit myself to 800 pts or less per month)

And no DSiWare Peggle release? The madness D:

up to level 1-8 so far.. frame rate looks okay to me (havent had a bunch of zombies on the screen at once though)
wasnt these modes opened as soon as you put the cart based ame in .. Puzzle, Survival, and the stress-free Zen Garden modes

also wasnt the Make your own zombie as soon as you start the game ( i dont see that anywhere in the game)

also it says 5 game modes ... on amazon the 5 game modes are listed as

Play five game modes: Adventure, Mini-Games, Puzzle, Survival, and the stress-free Zen Garden

so maybe im thinking of something else but i though the zen garden as open as soon as you played it and make your own zombie..... will keep playing and get back later (still hoping around 9pm to have it to at least level 3-10)

@slidecage: As far as I can remember most modes opened after you beat the game, they're not available when you begin. Keep playing!

if it includes zen garden it's insta buy for me

I have the retail DS cart version (and the PSN version), so I would say that this is a must buy. Can't get enough of those zombies.

Puzzle Mode and Survival Mode aren't listed on the second menu page and VS is gone as well on the DSiWare game. I wonder if they cut them. I know the mini-games don't unlock until World 2-1 or so. I'll see how it goes. They're basically identical in most ways, so I might just review them both at the same time and just mention the things that were cut out of the DSiWare version in that particular review. Kill two birds with one stone, so-to-speak.

And Zombietar wasn't available right at the beginning of the DS cart version. It unlocked later on.

im on world 3-1 and mini games are still locked ?

dont know about the rest of the people but on nintendo main page earlier today

five game modes but when there isnt 5 modes i would call that false advertising saying your game has more then it does. also i cant even figure out a way to buy stuff out of the car... the car isnt even loading up on the page...

there isnt 5 game modes in this verison so i have no clue what they are talking about ...i called them up to ask about it and they said
POPCAP TOLD THEM IT WOULD so its popcaps problem.... i was like whatever yet they leave it up on their webpage
Unless they are trying to pull that each stage is a game mode.... day,night,ect if that is the case that is just plain wrong on nintendo part

They told me to call back tomorrow and see what nintendo says and we will see then

personally i say your better off buying the cart verison cause there is just too much stripped out of this verison to be worth 800 pts..

Keep playing... I'm sure you'll unlock the other modes soon.

Survival mode should be unlocked after you beat the game.
Minigames should be unlocked after 3-2 according to the wiki page.

Survival, vs, and Puzzle are all displayed on the menu screen (although they are locked) on the DS cart game and they've changed the visuals on that page on the DSiWare version and these modes are no longer even displayed. That leads me to believe that they have, in fact, been removed from this DSiWare release.

3-2 is where you unlock the minigames. Sorry my info was wrong. Been awhile since I played through the DS one.

"In the next several weeks, PopCap will also launch a DSiWare version of Plants vs. Zombies. The title will contain Adventure mode gameplay, all four of the new mini-games from the DS adaptation and one DSiWare exclusive mini-game, Zombie Trap"

those are the only things included in the DSiWare version in case anyone is asking
