I'm downloading the game now. Unfortunately, it takes up 79 blocks. That's quite alot for a pinball game, but hopefully that means there will be alot of content. Impressions coming in a few
So I played for a little bit, and it's really not bad. Now there is only one table, unless there's a way to unlock a second one. It's more of a game that you play for just a quick burst of fun. I think it would've been better as 200 points tbh, but it's not all that bad. The arcade style of the game is awesome though, it does feel like you're playing an actual machine. There are lights going off everywhere and there are also voice effects as well. So not too bad, I think the price ruins it, and it lacks some content for 500 points. So I'll give it a 6.5. Maybe that will change when I play more, but so far it seems that's how it's going to stay.
Hmmm... I'm guessing there's more content than just one table here considering that the description mentions mythic quests and battling the Sirens and Medusa. Also it talks of collecting 12 items from the olympians... I'm guessing you'll have to unlock all that in one sitting to beat the game, so I'm hoping it's a game that you just come back to time and again to get a better high score and see how far you can advance. If that's the case, then one table isn't so bad (although I'm kinda expecting some smaller boss tables for the "battles")...
Anyway, I'll just shut up and d/l the thing. I'll let you guys know what I think in a while.
EDIT: 200 pts. for a game like this sounds nice from a consumer standpoint, but wouldn't make any sense for developers. Who gets paid? And how? For simple apps and previously developed games (Birds & Beans, Paper Airplane Chase) that's fine and all. But for an original game that requires developers and resources, $2 per download seems ludicrous.
Well there really aren't many battles. They just start by hitting things on the board, and you complete them by either hitting a certain object a certain number of times or keeping your ball alive within the time limit. But there are about 7 quests, so maybe clearing them all gets you furthur into a new table?
I'm sure there's more to unlock guys. The PR hints at it. ACK touched on it but to re-iterate: "Rack up combo points, open specific game modes and enlist the Oracle for some help."
Open meaning that they're originally locked.
I'm not too worried on the impressions to far. The game's been out for like 20 minutes. Give it some more time.
I downloaded it on my lunch break and played it for about 10 min. or so. I like it and I'm really impressed. If you like the old-school arcade look of pinball with LCD screens you will dig this game. The graphics sharp and the voice overs are epic in a cheesy sense but cool. 2 modes in arcade and daily play, and the ball physics handle really well. If you like pinball this is a no-brainer at 500 points.
Completed all 7 quests and nothing happened. I also hear there are Zeus and Hades' quests you can get by knocking on certain parts of the board, but haven't done that yet. You probably have to be a pro to access that stuff. Then you get Pandora Box quests, and I'm not quite sure that happens after that. The instruction manual also only shows one game board, so the hidden one must REALLY be secret...and I'll bump my score up to a 7.5 from a 6.5, because it really becomes more and more addicting, despine only having seen one board so far, and that one board is quite fun to play over and over. Really quite addicting. And good point about the 200 point thing, ACK, it actually would be rediculous, I just hadn't thought of it.
Good to hear. Keep the impressions coming guys. If I hear about some unlocks/more content, I'll take the plunge. Have you touched Daily Game yet, Cheezy?
I downloaded this about an hour ago and played it in bed (home sick with Swine Flu) and all of the quests are on the same board, you hit different areas around the board like a basic pinball game to unlock things to get you points. There is only one table, not sure where you guys are seeing another board at (help files, etc) because I don't see it. Graphics are very good and the sounds are very nice, I really like the total package, it's good. I am going to give this a 7/10, it would have been higher had there been more than one Pinball table included, so please read all the reviews and impressions before purchasing... Not bad, though, but not what I was expecting, either.
Daily game is the same board as Normal play, just different stuff to unlock within the same board, so it's not really a different experience.

Daily game is basically like the regular game, except you only get one ball and you can only play it once a day. It's good to see how many points you can get with just one shot, and that's mainly what it's there for. Another cool feature that would've been nice, although it's a bit "out there", would be to have online leaderboards and stuff, but no.
And in my impression, one thing I forgot to mention, although it was already covered, yes, the music and voices are pretty cool and sound quite epic. Medusas voice is annoying, but that's ok. And I might've already said this, but I love all the lights and things that go off in the game. Very pretty looking and I think that's what makes the game arcade like. I really like them, pretty cool looking if you ask me.
Best pinball physics I've ever seen in a pinball video game to date. This could be alright. Wish there was a bit more variety.
I totally agree. Great gameplay, sound and graphics.. Like Corbie said, just wish there was another pinball table and/or variety. I upgraded my original 6/10 score to 7/10 because everything else is so great about it, but just barely a 7.
