Rumble?

I notice the pictures are of a DS lite.......

It's probably a DS version of the N64 Expansion pak.

@JayArr: They may have developed this before the DSi was officially released, so putting a DS Lite in the patent graphics makes sense.

Well the DS2 hasn't been officially announced - perhaps instead they're upgrading the DS carts so they can take advantage of the DSi's improved processor, RAM and other hardware. If the carts are significantly different (such as using internal motion sensing), that would explain the need for new dev kits too.

Looks like it includes rumble or something like that. They probably don't want to use Slot 2 for expansion with the Dsi out now so they need to stick it in the DS cart instead.

Looks kinda like an Action Replay to me.

Nintendo DS MotionPlus. Detects when you drop it and immediately sends a message to Nintendo to void the warranty.

LOL Raylax.

@OP: Frankly I'm puzzled. It certainly looks like an accelerometer, but that wouldn't make much sense with the many rumors that the DS2 will have one built-in. :/

@Raylax- That's great! What if you don't have wi-fi then? DOES IT HAVE 3G? Which brings me to- 3g connected games! That it? Maybe?

It contains a single strand of Miyamoto's hair, which is powerful enough to send a signal without requiring an internet connection. On the flip side, Miyamoto's gonna get bald when it goes into mass production.

I was planning on getting a DSiXL but with the $190 price tag and all these rumors piling up, I decided to wait to get my first DS until after E3 to see if Nintendo does announce another handheld (and most likely it will be backwards compatible with the DS if Nintendo doesn't break trend). I'm stock piling DS games in the meantime though, lol.

I think the graphics look fine. We already have the PS3 for advanced graphics anyway.

@ kevohki: I was hoping the same thing. I'm up to 54 DS titles (just bought Pokemon SoulSilver and Infinite Space) so I'm hoping that the new DS will have backwards compatibility. I wouldn't be upset if it didn't, however.
