It's a really, really good game - especially in multiplayer. I don't know why there isn't more talk around it - I personally enjoyed it more than recent Mario Kart games...
Hmm.. I already got myself the Wii version, and I'm not intending to get the DS version as well, to be honest. I've tried the demo though, and if I can make a small judgement on the DS version based on that, I'd say it's a pretty good game; just as good as the Wii one at the very least.
I had the summer olympic games for the DS for awhile--I really felt like I was about to break the touch screen because it involved such extreme rubbing. Of the touch screen, that is.

I thought that too! Does anyone know if the Winter one involves such extreme rubbing?
I have BOTH the Wii and the DS versions. They are BOTH great games in their OWN right, believe me. It doesn't involve intense rubbing. ONM actually rated theDS version higher than the wii version (though both "Gold Award" standard"). I think they designed the versions with enough significant differences in content and gameplay to warrant a dual purchase imho.. cracking!
"They say video games are bad for you? That's what they said about rock n' roll."
Dead right, Legend Marioid - they're very different games, although I must say I enjoyed the Wii one quite a bit more. The DS one is a good game, don't get me wrong, but the story mode misses plenty of opportunities for awesome crossover talk and titbits, which is where the Wii game delivers in spades. Both worth a buy, but the Wii one has the edge for me.
