Topic: Korg DS-10 Plus - DSi enhanced

The news is that Korg is releasing a new version of its DS-10 synth software, with some new features for all users and, only for DSi users, even further expanded functionality.

At a conference in Japan, AQ Interactive announced Korg DS-10 Plus, an update of last year's title that now takes advantage of the DSi's higher-tech innards. So what's different? It has about double the song-making power, with four analog synths instead of two, and now eight drum tracks instead of four. Add that to the new track count of 12, and you have some serious song tools. New programmable editing also gives it some added flexibility.

This could run on the DS, but according to Watch Impress, you won't have the horsepower to run the new analog simulator. So make sure you've got a DSi before getting this title.

So, here you have it: the first retail game to feature expanded functionality for the DSi that has nothing to do with the cameras. It uses the increased specs of the DSi to simply expand the game's core functionality.

Twitter is a good place to throw your nonsense.

This is what many of us has been trying to tell the DSi haters. How can they say that any DSi game can be played on the DS Lite when the DSi has double the clock speed and four times the memory. All they see is that it has two cameras and an SD slot and its soo much more.

Sweet, this is great news. Love the original title, hopefuly they will include some extra drum samples in this new version. Any idea of release date?

I would have actually thought they would allow you to add your own samples via the SD card. If not this time at least they could try and include it next time.

This is intreasting as this is the first time a devoloper mention the DSi has a more powerful proccessor.
But still this up aginst other devolopers saying the DSi has the same CPU & the simply you wouldn't waste money devoloping a custom chip for a smaller project like the DSi as opposed to something bigger something in devolopment long befor hand & something that took a bit longer.

It be the bigger project that gets the new chip.

As for the RAM everything I read about the old DS it has 8 MB nothing less even the specs provided by Nintendo says the same.
So the DSi only has double the RAM.

Plus there's is a camera attachment released for the DS & the included software does have lens filters if I'm right so the DSi's camera functionally allready done with the standard DS with this camera attachment.

The Dsi has 16MB RAM whilst the DS Phat / DS Lite has only 4MB RAM so that shows a X4provement. If you claim that the original DS's have 8MB where is your proof?

While the rest of the specs maches in with the Official page thru I since learn that the Wifi was only B which is the reason the browser is so slow.

The press-release announcement was pretty amusing with Apple Steve Jobs-esque presentation. Go them!
