So, I've just received Chrono Trigger DS, but the Japanese version since it was cheaper. It's from the 'ultimate classics' line and came sealed but it doesn't have the Nintendo seal strip like in western regions. Does anyone know if it's still legit?

Thanks.

Every NDS Japanese games don't have Nintendo Seal logo. Only USA and PAL version have. I have checked my NDS Japanese game boxes and found no Nintendo Seal logo on the backside.

@Anti-Matter Thanks for the info. Yeah, I heard that Japanese DS games can be cheaper because of less demand. Just needed confirming it's not a fake.

If you have pictures of the cartridge I could probably tell you if it's legit.

I've heard newer bootlegs have gotten smarter, but on older bootlegs, one sign of a fake was if the game ID on the front (the middle part of XXX-YYYY-ZZZ where XXX is the console and ZZZ is the region), doesn't match the first four characters printed on the back of the card.
I had a suspect fake USA Tetris DS and I found the code matched the EU Mario Party. I later got a genuine Tetris DS and I could see together that the fake had blurry boxart (though I guess it wasn't the worst quality for a fake, only easy to see next to a real one) and the codes matched up.
