I completely disagree with that list but I'm glad, I guess, that DSiWare isn't ignored by every site.
5 Dragon Quest Wars 4 Pop+ 3 Mario vs DK 2 Mighty Flip Champs 1 Pictobits
Hmm... Okay I guess I only have a top 5 for 2009 for me. lol There are other good game's but hardly any that I would consider list worthy. All in all, DSiWare was a massive letdown only saved by a few hard working third parties. Nintendo should be ashamed of their contribution to the service.

Nah, Pictobits is one of the weaker Art Style games, and Mighty Flip Champs did not live up to its hype at all.
Mario Vs DK did only just miss out though. In the end, though, I felt Mixed Messages deserved a spot as a multiplayer highlight.
Edit #1 I also struggled - I would have liked to include Sujin Taisen, one or two more art style games (Aquite and Boxlife, likely), and Yummy Yummy Cooking Jam and Nintendo Touch Golf were outside chances. Once you eliminate the Gameloft games, though it does get much easier narrowing things down.
Edit #2 There were a couple of non-game applications I considered including, too. Flipnote Studio, Art Academy: First Semester and My Notebook were possibilities as well.
I think they picked some of the most risky games on DSiWare (as in the people who buy them are either going to love them or not have their expectations met.) There's a lot more safer bets imo.
I am also glad that DSiware isn't ignored, and here is my 2 cents (my list): 1. Dark Void Zero 2. Mario Vs. DK: March of the Mini again 3. Rayman 4. Filpnote Studio 5. Opera Browser 6. myNotebook 7. Dr. Mario Express And that's all I have for now, and I would Dragon's Lair to the list but I haven't bought that one yet.
I must be stupid. I wouldn't have said that If I had taken the time to see if Pop Island was out in EU or AUS yet. Oh, and why did you have to use my comment as an example?
Kubos on #1? I can't say how glad I am they gave that game the treatment it deserves as the best Art Style game by far. Pictobits and Digidrive are miles behind as are the other Art Style games.
oh my, i cant belive they didnt listed some of jewels on the service like littlest pet shop, oscar in toyland, master of illusions express or anything from gameloft at all!
As has been mentioned before, we couldn't put Pop Island on the list - it's not in Australia.
And Odnetnin, yes, Pop+ deserves a place in there, as far as I'm concerned. You might not like it, but it has superb production values, and is the laid-back style of gameplay is very relaxing.
The fact I (and some of the other Gamepro folks) are still playing it, a year later, makes it one of the better value DSiWare games.
Obviously not everyone is going to agree with each pick, but we did try and make a list to appeal to the broadest range of gamers possible.
abgar - Gameloft never belongs on a list of quality games (yes, I got your humour)
@WaltzElf Production values? Where? It has a decent soundtrack, but otherwise it's pretty bare-bones, presentation-wise. I can accept the game is not for me, though. Also, there were other games on the list I disagree with; Pop+ was just a prime example.
That's a great, well-rounded list that really illustrates the variety and depth of the DSiWare's lineup despite the criticism and general lack of press. I guess I'll throw my hat in the ring:
1. Precipice 2. Pinball Pulse 3. Starship Defense 4. Minis March Again 5. Trajectile 6. Dark Void Zero 7. Dragon Quest Wars 8. Pop+ 9. Digidrive 10. Pictobits 11. Mighty Flip Champs
Those are all my DSiWare games, though I'd probably stick Rayman somewhere on there based on my fond memories of the DOS version, but I haven't downloaded it so I'm not really fit to comment on DSiWare version... Also, I'm interested in seeing if Chronos Twins fufills it's promising potential. Otherwise my list mostly reflects my preference these days for simple games that are easy to pick up and play in short bursts. And for what it's worth I really enjoy all the top 10 games on my list...
I won't post my list, because anyone who knows anything about me should already know what the top 10 on my list are. I'll give you a bubble if you can guess the top ten on my list.
