I'm looking to pick up all the First Person RPGs on the DS, as I've come to realization I am born for these babies (Being raised with DOOM and SNES RPGs, the signs are clear).
So far here's what we've gather. Deep Labyrinth (Thanks WaltzElf) Devil Survivor (Thanks Ninten) Etrian Odyssey III (Thanks HolyMackerel) Fighting Fantasy: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain (Thanks Oregano) Mazes of Fate DS Orcs & Elves The Dark Spire (Thanks MickeyMac)
The only other game I know of is Fighting Fantasy: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain. Only released in the US.

While EO3 is a bit of a different concept, it still counts as a FPRPG. It does borrow a fair bit from classic FPRPGS (such as how FOEs move every time you move) although it's somewhat closer to a typical JRPG with turn-based battle mode and such. The mapping concept also harkens back to ye olde days when you needed graph paper to get anywhere. I think if you like Orcs & Elves you'd like EO3. I really appreciate the freshness it brings to the genre.
There's also Deep Labyrinth. Which isn't turn based, but it a FPRPG (Like Warlock of Firetop Mountain).
Mind you, neither game is great.
The best FPRPGs on the DS are Orcs and Elves (very D & D like dungeon hack, I agree), and The Dark Spire (retro FTW). Etrian Odessy feels more like a JRPG that just happens to be in the first person.
Etrian Odyssey is pretty far from the typical JRPG that you would have grown out of lol. It's a lot harder than most JRPGs. There's far less of a focus on story and cutscenes and more on exploration and character customisation. And while the character artwork is cutesy, the monsters are ugly/gruesome and the gameplay is unforgiving. Expect to die many, many times if you play it.
Really EO and The Dark Spire are both excellent, and I wouldn't say you should miss out on one just because you're going to play the other.
After watching afew videos of EO3, it's not what I'm looking for. The exploration is great, being able to map big bosses and give them a title for reminder is neat, but I'm not a fan of the art direction. However, looking at The Dark Spire videos (And reviews from a trusted source), it looks fantastic, and while it's not exactly like what I want (Orcs & Elves!), it's the closest I'll get.

Well, Devil Survivor is technically an S-RPG, but the battles are in First Person View.

[19:48] Ninten: lz, your avatar is weird. [19:48] Ninten: Reggie is like..."Duh, no Mother series for you Americans!" [19:49] lz2010: That was the point Ninten ;)
@Ninten It's also got anime art direction, so even though Devil Survivor is a fantastic game that's a no-go too.
@BedCommando Hope you enjoy the heck out of The Dark Spire. It's coming up soon on my to-play list. The quick whirl I gave it when I bought it gave me a great impression.
