I've been waiting for flipper for a long time, and it comes out today! I don't doubt it will be a good game, but I still want to know some other people's opinions before I buy it. What are yours?
It's hard to give an answer right now because it doesn't come out until noon right? I can say that I plan on downloading it as soon as it's out. I've been waiting a longtime and I think it looks really cool!
I only found out about Flipper a little while ago but it looks like it's going to be really good. The new games come out 8am PST, which is 2 hours from now. Who's going to get Flipper before impressions/reviews?
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day you know!
How about some schoolwork?
I know. I woke up late today, and I wanted to start school on time. [I'm virtually homeschooled, and my mom is pretty strict about me starting on time. Last time I was late, I lost my DSi for a week.]

Wow, that's rough dude. my parents know they're likely to get their hand bitten off if they were to try and confiscate my DSi
I bought it immediately when the games came out (I was probably among the first to buy it) and I'm on the third or fourth stage of the second world (the one after the tutorial world anyway.) Seems good so far. I'm hoping the puzzles get more tricky and creative because so far they've been quite straightforward.
I like the use of the voxel terrain, this is exactly how I thought voxels should be used in games. Think of how you could eat away at terrain in Worms... except this is in 3D, and you can also restore terrain and build steps to walk uphill. The concept is nice (if simplistic) and makes for some quite unique gameplay.
Controls are straightforward, the game only slows down when you rotate the camera (it rotates at 45 degree angles). The pixel graphics are rudimentary but charming. There are 4 worlds with 5 stages each I believe, and each world has a bonus stage for collecting hard-to-get star items too.
Overall a good game. Can't say whether it's worth the 500 points (it probably is) because I've really only just begun it. Been playing Dark Void Zero and precipice too.
Oh, and the fish's dry facial expressions in some artwork is pretty funny too .
Hmm, 20 stages? That's a bit less than I expected given the apparent single screen simplicity of each stage. Weren't they planning on making this a 200 pt title? Oh well, looks fun and the graphics style is nice. Can't really expect an epic game for just 5$. I look forward to more impressions.
There are 24 stages including the star bonus stages, and 28 if you include the first tutorial world (very basic tutorials). That's another reason why I'm hoping it gets harder later. I'll post more when I've played more of it.
