Guys, having downloaded this and given it a thorough testing, I can quite safely say this is one of the most perfect games for the DSiWare. It's simple to pick up and play for 5 minutes at a time, and if you do that, you'll get a lot out of it. The 4 different levels provide nice variety, and beating your top scores can get very challenging, and the difficulty curve is pretty steep.
I don't recommend trying to play this for hours at a time, because it would get dull. It's not designed for that. It's a time waster, and it's brilliant at that.
For 500 points, it's a must-have for anyone who doesn't have a iPhone.
I'd agree, but there are actually 5 levels (or airports, so to speak). Also the ability to stop at any point, quit the game and come back later is a great addition to any pick-up-and-play game. (If only Base 10, Puzzle League and Starship Defense had these features.)
The carrier level is my favorite.(3/5 levels played so far) The fact that its always moving, means you gotta be on your game at all times to have a chance at any type of good run.
I was one of the contest winners for 1000 Wii points, and Firemint hooked me up, despite Nintendo not giving them the right codes for US contest winners. They're pretty awesome. And the game is great. I agree that it's really good as a DSiWare game.
I bought it. Played it twice. Deleted it. Angry with myself for wasting 500 points.
What exactly is the purpose of the game? They could have at least made it so, for example, you had to land x amount of planes before you could play the next airport, and so on and so forth. To be able to play everything from the outset offers no incentive for me to come back to this game. This was my worst DSiware purchase.
Flight Control..... its a o.k. game I think. I may have hyped this game up a little to much by watching to many you tube versions of the Iphone game. One of those instant buy type of games for me that im trying to take any time with. An online leader board would have done this game some good though. I enjoy trying to better my scores every now and again, but other then that theirs not much to talk about since no multiplayer for me. Honestly I dont think anybody could recommend this game over the far superior and cheaper Iphone version if you had the option to both. This wasnt close to being my worst dsiware purchase as I tend to go more for the 500 point games that have endless mode. Just wish Firemint would have gone that extra step to justify Nintendos price increase for this one.
I see. Maybe Nintendo thought they could raise the price because it's well-known and best-selling. I guess 200 points would have been much more reasonable... I suppose I'll pass. Thanks guys.

Does Nintendo actually choose the price? Firemint talked in interviews about how they thought it 500 points was the ideal price and quite a long while back it was said that Nintendo was changing the royalty rates to encourage smaller, cheaper games(or somesuch) but I always thought the publisher got the final choice with nudges from Nintendo. but I've seen a lot of talk about Nintendo deciding prices.

The purpose is to play it. Entertainment. Understand? Not all games progress you through different levels. Platformers & actiongames do that. This is more of an arcade simulation game, and a great one at that.

I appreciate your sentiments. but 500 points is too much for a game that offers nothing but score beating.

I agree hate this game played it and stop playin, it is the worst game and hate i used my 500 points to get this and to think that it was a good game on the iphone.
TNeumann, I totally agree! Huge waste of points. No real "goal" and even as a time waster, I find picking my nose more gratifying than sliding planes onto runways with my stylus. Bor-ing!!!
