I recently downloaded the Okamiden demo for DS as I have heard good things about the Wii game of a similar name and was pretty surprised at how few DS demos were available (in the UK at least) so this got me wondering...
How many people actually use the DS demo download service on the Wii Nintendo Channel?
The reason that I'm interested is this: Given that there was almost zero publicity for Digger Dan on DSiWare, nobody knows what the game is about so I was considering getting a demo version on the Nintendo Channel (which is a weird way of getting DSiWare demos out, since people who don't have a DSi can play a demo of a game they can't buy).

I used it for one or two DS games I was on the fence about (Ivy the Kiwi? comes to mind), but there just aren't enough demos on the service for it to be very useful for me. I would probably use it more often if they publicised Nintendo Channel's DS demo offerings better and made them more easily accessible. Nintendo Channel is pretty poorly designed, leaving a heck of a lot of information (like DS demos and older videos) harder to find than they should be. But that's just me complaining about the Wii's obfuscated online services.
A Digger Dan demo on Nintendo Channel couldn't hurt your sales. May as well try it!
I used it once to check out Ghost Trick. But honestly it felt like a hassle to have to set up to do all of that.
That's why I'm glad they'll be doing demos on the 3DS. Connecting to another system seems just like a hassle, and I had to borrow someone else's Wii since I don't actually own one.

I also occasionally check the demos page, and I'll download whatever I may be interested in, when I have time. The people actually using DSiWare are probably more likely to be connected on the Wii then the general Wii owner population, so it couldn't hurt to post a demo up, if it's not too time/money consuming. It was a good system for the DS Lite, but it would be nice if they could offer demos on the DSi (seems like that could certainly be possible with a shop channel update).
Thanks for reminding me about the Okamiden demo. I need to pick that up, most definitely!
I'm looking forward to the 3DS offering demos directly from the shop too. That will make things much easier for everyone!
I am way too lazy to think of something clever. My Backloggery
I rarely check. They always have the same Demo....
For you, the day LordJumpMad graced your threads, was the most important day of your life. But for me, it was Tuesday. [url=http://www.backloggery.com/jumpmad]Unive...
I try all of them, but they aren't always the best of demos. 101 Classic Books comes to mind where the demo is a Shakespeare play - not a 'book' or even interesting to most people, but the disc is a great collection, and the demo picked a really bad example. Some of the demos are good, like Art Academy and Ghost Trick. They're in-depth enough to get you really interested in the game and make you want more. But I think a lot of the demos need a bit more explanation as to what you're supposed to do. This weekend I tried that Mario / Donkey Kong game and I couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do. It looked cool, but I quickly lost interested and quit.

I check them out every Monday and usually try whatever new thing might have been added. Rarely am I truly excited by seeing any particular demo but that was just the case with Okamiden. I was very pleased to see that one added! @Victoria: Sounds like you guys have a lot of demos for great games over there! We don't have the Mario v DK demo, Art Academy demo, or classic books demo over here

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
Alex is right ..... it's just the same ones that have been on there for years - there's only a few of them anyway. There's very seldom anything new, and the new ones are only on there for a short period. It's all pretty lame which is a shame because I think it would be a good way to really sell games. Something to give you a good taste of what the games are like, to suck in and make you want more.

Yes, i do. I like to try out each and every demo that´s available. But it´s really about time for a way to get demos with your DSi / 3DS and most importantly being able to save ´em and share them with others easily.
Good luck with getting a demo to ´Digger` up there though. I just don´t think demos for DSiWare-titles are supported for whatever reason.
