I still have the original DS and thats cause I wont get a DSi. I have a camera on my cell phone so the camera part doesnt interest me and I also dont like the idea that the DSi doesnt have the GBA game slot in it. I still have a bunch of GBA games so if I were to get a DSi I would have no way of playing them.

I doubt you'll be able to transfer DSiWare games, so I don't see the use for it if you're happy with your current DS. I'll have had mine for nearly 2 years when the 3DS launches, so hopefully I can get sick of the DSiWare I have now before the 3DS comes out. I refuse to buy anything new though, unless they announce a way to transfer games.
The one thing that is nice is being able to use Wifi in public hotspots (like on BoltBus), because you can use the browser to log on. Other than the extra Wifi features, there's not much of a point though. Just wait for the 3DS.
I am way too lazy to think of something clever. My Backloggery

I'm looking at the 3DS on gameinformer and noticing that the DSi is just a 3DS prototype (same size, same features) so GET USED TO IT! We're all gonna be playing the same thing.
I have one and still regret it. I've got like 5 games I downloaded for it, but they were all free. Flipnote Hatena was fun for like 2 weeks and I moved on after making some fun animations. The thing is I really only bought it because I've been doing Nintendo stuff since 1985 at home and I knew how they worked. I figured the DSi would get honest to god 'only on ---> dsi' type branded games as the GBC had with the cross breed games in black plastic, and then charcoal clear only worked on GBC. I figured we would start getting some branded games that used that extra 12MB of RAM and the added 100mhz on that main processor it has. Sadly that hasn't been the case.
I checked online and sure enough there are a few games that are called 'dsi-enhanced' but no one has any box art or display of it at all. Sonic Classic Collection is one of the few(Assassins Creed II and Jam Sessions 2 are notable too), and on a DSi the framerate problems vanish, audio gets a little better too...so basically it smooths it out to be right whereas on the DS it runs sloppy. Most the other games dsi-enhanced are tv franchise junk, one of those awful imagine games, and some kiddie bunk like iCarly, other girl games, Classic Word Games, My Cooking Coach, and Alice in Wonderland to name a few.
The KEY to it at retail, check the box on the back. A normal DSI game lists the usual NTR-XXX coding, but DSi-enhanced(and DSi only) games are TWL-XXX.

Well... I recall the first time I saw someone with a DSi. My first reaction was "DO WANT!" so I sold my DS lite and got a DSi. I like the bigger screens, etc.. but yeah, the DS lite was just as good as the DSI.
Looking forward to The Conduit 2 and CoD: Black Ops for DS For really cool avatars for a forum, go here! http://callofduty.wikia.com/wiki/Callsigns/Emblems
If your planning to get the 3DS, don't get the DSi, it will have like the same features but better gaes abd graphics and 3D's. I actually got a DSi, but I have never got a DS or DSlite, I jump from the game advance SP to the DSi, but the 3DS looks so AWESOME that im REALLY going to get one!
Nope....I actually just ordered my '3rd' DS Lite off eBay a few days ago because they don't sell Brand new Polar White or Onyx Black DS's anymore suprisingly. My first White DS(which I bought on launch day) ended up getting a Clouded screen, and my second Black DS Lite's hinges broke. So now I've getting a near mint White DS, and I'm going to be taking extra care of this baby
And yaa, I would of gotten a DSi instead, but I hate the matte finish it has on the outside, and the increase in screen size apperantly makes the graphics slightly(very slightly) inferior...And because the screens are larger, I dont wan't to feel like I'm getting a downgrade with the 3DS since it's screens are slightly smaller. DS Lite's matches the 3DS's screens perfectly. But the biggest deal breaker is that I want to play GBA games on my DS, so the DSI simply put isn't an option.
It does not matter how careful you are with the system they all break eventually. Had one hinge brake right off. Second one 3 weeks later the hinge started to break on a replacement DS. Got a chance to bye one from a friend and about a month later it would shut off when you would close it for sleep mode. This problem became so bad that it eventually stopped turning on altogether. My brothers did the exact same thing. Both where black. Funny thing is I gave my second DS to a friends son he was 6 at the time and its still going strong. I had to glue the hinge and is been fine ever since. He's 8 now
I do have a dsi and love it. Would not trade it in for a 3ds if the dsiware does not transfer. Lets keep our fingers crossed on that one. No problems with it so far but have heard the hinges break on these too. Had it for about 8 months now. Registered it at club nintendo for a extra 3 months on my warranty.
I've had the hinge problem twice with my past lites. First one, the system literally fell apart (I'd send pics but I think I lost it, but the top screen unhooked, I could hold the bottom screen in the air with the top screen on a table, and it still played games because the wire were intact). The second time, I put super glue on the cracked hinge, and it last in good shape for as long as I could remember (until I lost it that is).
