Are you able to download DS games if you only have a DS Lite and not a DSi? I'm not "wireless enabled", although I do connect my Wii to the internet by using Nintendo's official ethernet cable. Is it possible for me to connect my DS Lite to the internet in order to download these rad downloadable games that I've been reading about? The thought of shelling out for a DSi, when I have a perfectly functional and fairly new DS Lite, doesn't sound very attractive. Thanks

Sorry, no.

I can see that, but unless you have a large GBA cart collection (the main reason I could see for keeping it), the positive is that it's just a system upgrade and you can use all your DS carts on the new machine, so you're not really losing anything in the process. You can always gift your DS Lite to someone or trade it in/sell it!

Thanks, josh and Sean for the responses. The cool-looking downloadable DSi games look too good to ignore, and I'm veering towards biting the bullet and buying my third DS in as many years. One last question, if you don't mind. I've been having major trouble trying to link my Wii and my Laptop to my router wirelessly, and I've pretty much just given up and have resorted to using cables. If I buy a DSi, can I link it to the internet/Wii using a cable? If so, does the cable come with the DSi? If not, what's this cable called, and where can I get it? Thanks.

DSi is all EDIT:wireless. Except for the charging bit.

Uh, you have it the wrong way. The DSi is all wireless, except for charging, though I've seen charging mats that can charge it as long as it's on the mat (Because it is apparently terribly difficult to insert a cable into something and then plug it in.

Exactly.

If you want to get DSiware games, you have to get a DSiware. There are no cables, so you would have to connect wirelessly.

Just let it happen.

Thanks everyone for the responses. Since my Wireless Router doesn't seem to want to allow me to connect my Laptop or any of my consoles wirelessly to the internet, it unfortunately looks as though there is no point in my buying a DSi. Cheers for the advice.

No problem. I should let you know, there are Nintendo USB router things that are meant for the Wii and DS. You just plug them in to the computer I believe, and you can connect really easily.

Hmmm, perhaps that's something that I should look into. Can anyone provide a link to some info on these devices, or even just its official name so that I can search for it myself?

I´m sure you can make your router work for you. It´s probably just some setting you have missed. Mine for example have the option to turn all wireless off totally.
Maybe you should wait just a little bit and replace your DS with a DSi-XL.

The dsi also uses complex internet settings, unlike the other ds.
The retail games cant use these though, but your dsi ware will!

Bloop.
