Well i have a nintendo ds lite and after i connect the ds to the charger it will show a orange light and after about half hour of charging the ds stop charging , after 20 minuets the light turn from green to red , maby it's a problem with the battery or with the charger?( i don't have original charger for the record)

This is typically a sign that the system's battery is at the end of its life cycle. Your best bet would be to find a replacement battery online and switch them out. Nintendo does still sell replacement battery packs for the DS Lite, but the availability may depend on your region. Just be careful if you have to go shopping for third-party batteries.
