Topic: Unpopular Opinions on Amiibo

This includes if you don't like certain amiibo, or if you want a certain amiibo that the majority doesn't want, etc.

I apologize if this was done already.

Mine: I don't really like the idea of amiibo. I would perhaps buy one, or two, at most. They look soort of cool. I enjoy Smash Bros. but I have mine on a regular XL, and I also suck at the game. If the intentional purpose of amiibo were to unlock things in games, I would actually open them up and use them. If I wanted something Nintendo for decór of bragging rights, I would spend money on Nintendo plushies.

I also don't own a Wii U. Whoops, thats kind of relevant to amiibos. Sorry bout that mini rant, though.

Well, alright. I already knew about it. This is too oddly specific to receive traffic... Also because it's written by me.

do you have any or not? you said you would buy one or two, then you said you would actually open and use them if they unlocked stuff (which they do, lol). so do you own any to open?

this isn't really an unpopular opinion this is just a guy telling us why he doesn't own amiibo (or does but wont open them?) lol

then you cap it off by saying you'd buy plushies, even if they didn't interact with games! figurines are way better than plushies! now that there is an opinion.

1) they're poorly underused.

2) they're a bit too expensive.

3) I actively avoid buying those with plastic tubes sticking out of their butt, even though I really like the characters!

The faces are too long, making all amiibos look comparably goofy by default. Also, obscure/rarely seen characters like Miss Fit, Kid Icarus range, Inklings, and Chibi-Robo never should've been amiibos in the first place, due to their lack of support.

@martinskrtel37 I think she means she doesn't understand why people not open them. They're supposed to be used for collecting in game collectables, so why just keep them in ugly plastic containers? It's wasting money and storage.

It looks nice in the containers and if they're all about collecting, keeping this in the original container is a must. And some people have amiibo with no or uninteresting support in the games they play(like me), so there's no point in getting them out in the open.

@Kaze_Memaryu: Why did you include the Inklings? They by far have the best amiibo support currently.

@Jimtaro: yeah, I hate the ones with the butt tube too. Especially Link, who looks like he's peeing down his leg.

I don't like the idea of people never taking any of their amiibo out of the box. I bought doubles on three or four of them but all my others are out of the box on my entertainment center to display. I just don't find the enjoyment of keeping them all in a box but that's just me, and don't really care about using whatever game content comes with them (I never use Mii in Mario Kart 8 and don't care about fighting an overpowered CPU in Smash Bros).

My other opinion is that there should have been more made for the Mario Party series. I was expecting Wario, Waluigi, Rosalina, Daisy, and Toadette but I guess it's not going to happen.

Even for amiibo I have, I really dislike content being locked away for amiibo owners because I think everyone who owns the games should be able to get all of the content without buying amiibo.

I have 22 amiibo and I love them all. The only games that use them correctly are Smash, Code Name Steam, and Fire Emblem Fates. The amiibo should unlock the character in the game - not unlock silly recolors or mii costumes, or drops, or coins. I love using them with those three games but the other games just do not use them properly. At least Intelligent systems gets it.

I also do not like how I can't save the amiibo's memory to the Wii U - so when I wanted to use Petch in MP10, I had to wipe her memory clean. That sucked.

More like amiiblows.

I don't see what the big deal is with WFT, I think she looks like a boring mannequin and the hype is ridiculous.

I think amiibo's ingame uses suck, but considering how hard it is to get most of them, its probably for the best that they haven't made a skylandersesque game

i think people who think amiibo's in-game use suck just suck at smash and lose to their level 10 yoshi's
