@stuie1234 If you combine it with pepperoni instead of the standard ham it comes with, it neatly balances out that sweetness with the spiciness of the meat. I don't know which idiot ever came up with ham. It has a way too neutral taste, so it makes the whole Hawaii pizza, or whatever it is called rather bland in my opinion, so whoever came up with that, deserves a good thrashing, far as I'm concerned...
As for your actual question: no, you're not too old. If you want to collect them, you should do so. I'm pretty sure that there's also plenty of people who frown upon grownups playing video games, but I myself am 48 and I couldn't care less about what other people think, as long as I enjoy it myself, which is really the only thing that matters.
And recently, a new member joined the site, who is 75 and only now got into gaming, because of him getting his son's old GameCube, which (along with playing The Wind Waker on it) has inspired him to go and buy a Switch, so there you go: no one is ever too old to play games, or to collect whatever it is that they want to collect.
And put 'em in a glass showcase, for cryin' out loud. They need their moment to shine...
Just put other game-related stuff in there as well, so the Amiibo's don't attract all of the attention, if it bothers you that much.
I have the full Splatoon collection (not including recolours because that would be pointless), and I have some shelf space dedicated to those. They look a lot better than most of the other amiibo in my opinion.
Most are put away because of a lack of space, and I also don't buy them as often as I used to. Pearl and Marina are my only amiibo from this year...
Some of mine in box cos they are still sealed (hard to find in the beginning collection). Some were displayed (common and 2 or more of the same) but I've just packed them up during Spring/ Summer cleaning. don't feel like constantly dusting them.
@stuie1234 you're 41. Live proudly.
I'm 31, run an office for the us military, and have a shelf in that office covered in Nintendo stuff. Its sparked about 40 positive conversations with airmen, civilians, and colonels in the past year.
If anyone says you're too old for toys, videogames, amiibo etc remind them that you've worked hard for your money and will spend it how you please.
@subpopz Except society does not view sports as a childish interest to have. Video Games particularly the likes of which Nintendo makes can at times be viewed as childish, as well as the figurines they make as well. If you're making the case nothing should be defined by age groups that's one thing, but if your interest is in let's say pacifiers do you feel the same?

That's what a poor sport would say. Trying to make a obscene comparisons is just that pathetic and poor judgement and reflects badly on yourself. The Amiibo aren't just figurines they serve a purpose but that is already lost on you. But least you forget they have $$ behind them and can be sold for a pretty sum when the time comes. These are highly sought after Amiibo and there is never enough for everyone. So your delusional world is crumbling around you but then again that isn't anyone but your own fault for it.
@Nintendoforlife If somebody loves pacifiers, power to them. How does it affect me? It literally doesn't. I honestly don't care what people do or what their interests are as long as they're not hurting anybody.
Who has time to worry about and judge what other people do with their life/money?
Exactly my thoughts and put this way you can pass the games down to your kids or grand-kids and so on...it keeps giving here. It has nothing to do with age or gender or orientation - NSW is for all ages and the more that enjoy it - well your NSW was a well worth the investment that will keep them Gaming. Remember Nintendo was a kid to adult game and and back. Why else is NIN a family friendly system and sells better then xbox and ps. IMHO
Plenty of people collect Amiibo and all sorts of other stuff for different reasons. Baseball cards, bottle caps, stamps, games, Disney ornaments, books by certain authors...etc. I only have five Amiibo (all Legend of Zelda related) but would probably own more - including characters from other franchises - if some of them weren't so hard to find.
What's acceptable or not acceptable is completely up to one's own perceptions. Granted, there are ways to cross the line, but I highly doubt you're a rampant hoarder or are collecting anything illegal.
Bottom line - if you enjoy collecting Amiibo, feel free to keep doing so! Stop if you want, but of your own volition.
Edit: I work with a guy roughly your age who collects and assembles LEGO (mostly Star Wars) sets as a hobby. Some would find it kiddy and childish, but I personally think it's cool!
