Topic: Amiibo skins in Yoshi's Wooly World

So I've been slowly unlocking the amiibo skins for Yoshi, 2 or 3 at a time so I can enjoy them all a little bit more, however I just tried my Pikachu and just got a Yoshi with the amiibo symbol on his tummy. Tried Paulenta and got the same thing happen. Not sure if I've reached the limit or something. If I have, that's highly frustrating as only about half way through my collection. I've registered 21 different amiibo so far. Anybody know if there is a limit? Can't find anything official from Nintendo regarding this.

I don't think all amiibo unlock stuff. I'm pretty sure it got confirmed a while back that none of the Pokemon amiibo would work.

That seems to have been the case. A shame about the Pokemon amiibo, but glad there isn't a limit.

Hmm. Im surprised about the Pokémon amiibo. Then again the Pokémon execs don't seem to want anything to do with amiibo or Wii U so...not surprised really. Hell, third parties gave amiibo support for the game before Pokémon did. What is it with those guys lately?

If you unlock the Yoshi skins does it over right other data stored on the chip?

Nope, it just reads the Amiibo data.

Sounds like they want to break away from Nintendo, or get more control over their creations. I've started noticing this after the release of ORAS, with more spin-offs from other companies and Tembo not on Nintendo system. Could be something we're not seeing, but I think there's definitely something there.
