Topic: Wii Shop vs 3DS Eshop

I am making a comparison between the Nintendo Wii`s shop and the Nintendo 3DS` Eshop.There will be three categories for comparison.In the comments below tell me which shop do you think reigns supreme overall!

1)Layout & Organization

Here I think the Wii shop wins hands down when it comes to organization.It was so easy to find any games for whatever category you were interested in.With the 3DS` Eshop it`s VERY annoying to find something easily if you don`t know anything about it beforehand.To add insult to injury there seems to always be new random categories added every week,which just further complexes the situation.

2) Reliability

When it comes to reliability,I think the Eshop wins this comparison.The Wii shop compared to the Eshop is very clunky and slow moving.The Nintendo Eshop offers streamlined browsing in comparison to the Wii.The Eshop also allows other methods of downloading such as downloading instantly or if you prefer,you can download something during sleep mode if you wish.But,the Wii shop does have an advantage in the fact that you can gift other users games,points, etc....As far as I know you cannot do this with the Eshop,which is a shame

3)Content

The final category to discuss and compare is the most important part of any online store,content.The Wii(considering how far into it`s lifetime it is)has a large lineup of games to download,however most of the very good games are buried under a pile of shovel ware and thus most believe the Wii shop to be garbage and nothing else.The 3DS` Eshop however,has much less shovel ware than the Wii shop but due to it being relatively early in it`s lifetime it doesn`t have anywhere near the amount of content the Wii shop has at this point in time.Overall I would say in terms of content both shops have their advantages and disadvantages.So to conclude this comparison I believe category will be a tie between the two shops!

I really don't think it's much of a competition, eShop all the way.

Layout: the eShop makes you want to look through it. The layout has the same vibe as the XBL Game Marketplace, and that's definately a plus. Wii Shop Channel on the other hand is very barebones and bland. Also, eShop gets bonus points for abandoning that archaic 'points' system (a system even Xbox Live clings to).

Reliability: eShop is simply much smoother, and gives you much more options.

Content: it's not even a year old yet, but eShop has almost equal the number of great titles as WiiWare. I hardly believe it's going to get nothing but shovelware from here on out, so it's only a matter of time before it's library beats WiiWare (before the end of the year, I'm guessing). Also, eShop is getting retail games, and has retail demos. Wii Shop Channel can't compete.

While i do prefer the eShop`s color palette and pictures,etc.I still prefer the Wii shop`s organization(It had consistent categories and was easy to find things).

3DS sysop by miles.

Shouldn't even have to compare. The Wii Shop is horrible and way too simplified. eShop is definitely the way to go.

Again,while the eshop is overall much better,the organization for the Wii shop is still better because there wasn`t any random categories and you could easily find something even if you didn`t have much prior knowledge as to where the item you want is(Like which category the game you want is).

I like both shops as long as VC keeps getting released. The eShop provides video(sometimes) and reviews(I wouldn't really judge a game by). I know my way around the WiiShop like a pro and I don't understand the complaints people have with it.

Um, wut? eShop is much easier, because you have a search bar. All you have to do is type in the name of the game and bingo. Even without that, I'd still give the edge to eShop. 3D games, Virtual Console, and Apps all have their own easy to find tabs. even if there are a few random tabs, the front page isn't nearly large enough for anyone to become lost or confused. With the Wii Shop, yes everything is listed clearly, but after clicking on the correct tab (let's say NES), if I have to dig through five pages just to find the game I want, something's wrong. eShop is much better in every area, including this one.

Hmmm...well I can`t say you don`t have a point but I still prefer the Wii shop in some ways.It seems like there`s a lot of improvements the eshop but they also took away some of the good things of the Wii shop(easier to understand layout,gifting,etc...).
