Okay, Just post here what you guys think about the game. For me, The game is very solid so far, just rescued the first person, and I love the Gravity switching mechanic. The Graphics and the Music are really solid, but the s3D is barely noticeable. Outside the main game, you can adjust the settings(Invincibility, slowdowns, etc.) and also play some of the user generated levels built in the game, sadly, I cannot find the Level editor, maybe I just have to unlock it. So far its great, but I haven't found what separates this game from the steam version, Share your thoughts.
For those of you with a PC/Steam version, how does the 3DS's D-Pad control compare to a standard keyboard's controls?
Hm, I don't have VVVVVV for the 3DS, but I have the PC version. The game controlled a bit awkwardly due to the placement of my hands on the mapped directions, meaning that three fingers were used to steer the blue guy. However, I liked the controls. Since a thumb will be used to steer the captain on the 3DS version, I imagine that it'd more intuitive. Not sure which button changes the gravity though.
Wii remote I thought this game was only on PC/Steam and 3DS/3DSWare? How hard is it, I saw some game play videos on Youtube and to me the game looks very frustrating not sure if I want to get a game that is that frustrating at the moment so is it really that hard?
The generous checkpoint system prevents it from ever really becoming frustrating. It's definitely worth a play but unless this version has a level editor (which it might, not sure), then I'd say get the Steam version now for $1.24.
Awesome game. I understand when it was first released, it cost 15$. Taking this into account, along with adjusting the price to cover the cost of a 3DS development kit, 8$ is an acceptable price to me. Even at 15$ you'd still get your moneys worth. My only complaint thus far is, given the often black background with brightly colored sprites, there's some hellacious 3D ghosting going on. Not enough to make me disable the 3D, but I may before the game is through.
It was first $10 before dropping to $5 on Steam and now its on sale for Christmas at little over a dollar. At $8, that makes VVVVVV the most expensive piece of 3DSWare, though it definitely is not the best. I'm saving my money for Mutant Mudds or Sakura Samurai, both look to offer much more content than this game (which took me 2 hours to beat on PC). They should have priced this at $5, maybe then I would have bought it again. As it is, I suggest that everyone here just gets it on Steam for a fraction of the price.

This seems to come with a lot more content. Say what you will about Nintendo's pricing, the developer at least tried to give us a lot more for our money.
And it only took you two hours to beat the PC version? Did you get all the trinkets? I got a lot more gameplay out of it than 2 hours...especially after you unlock Flip Mode and other things to keep you busy.
I just downloaded it and rescued my second person. I've never really gotten that far in the Steam version of the game because I just got so completely lost. With the map continuously shown on the bottom screen however, I find that I never get lost anymore! Also, since I hadn't gotten that far in the first version, I didn't know new levels were added until Chicken_Brutus mentioned it. How great is that!
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.
