Hello everyone. Yes, I'm new and I'm totally sorry if this is in a forum somewhere that I can't find, but after having spent nearly all day trying to find a definite answer, I've kinda just ended up with posting on a forum for hopeful help. @_@

So, here's the deal; I bought a used Monster Hunter 4 3DS XL. It does not have a NNID linked to it, but it does have an eshop account from the previous owner. I understand to an extent that the game might just be attached to the system since there was never a NNID on it but then at the same time there is a lot of conflicting answers around the web about that. So, my deal is that I would like to delete the eshop account that's on the system in order to make purchases for other games under a new account. Will I be able to reinstall MH4U if I do that with or without a NNID attached to the system?

Anyone who could give me definitive answers would be so very much loved. I've got a headache at this point. lol

Thank you all very much for your time.

If it doesn't have a linked NNID, then just create one. The purchases will be linked to it.

If you reset the system to factory settings and the purchases were not linked to an account, then they'll be lost forever.

Okay. So, if I create an NNID for it, then delete the Eshop account, then make my own, everything should be fine 100%?

Just create a NNID and use it normally.

Don't delete anything. Unless you don't want to keep the games.

Okay, cool. It's bringing up the whole attach to personal Mii thing. Is there a way change the user to that or is that just linked to the handheld like everything else? I know you can edit the Mii but it's still not me, so just want to be sure.

You should be able to edit that mii in the mii app. Just change it to be you.

Ooooooh... Ha, okay. So got to the part where it says linking a NNID will in simple terms overwrite the existing Eshop account, correct?

Seisinbyou

Eel

Huh, are you trying to link an existing account? Or create a new one?

I know creating a new one shouldn't delete or replace anything.
