Topic: Upgraded Cave Story coming to eShop

@thedreaminghawk Ahem?! Hello? Don't you know where I live? I think I've implied it several times but I live in New Zealand! We are run under Nintendo of Australia and that's because we don't have a Nintendo hq of our own. Get your facts straight before you make such a comment. But I don't blame you, we are a small country and we often get ignored for no reason whatsoever, especially when it comes to game releases.

I can't believe I forgot about that country. No wonder companies tend to ignore it. At least on the bright side you will get Fractured soul no matter what, Endgame is an AU dev.

Cave Story DSiWare is no longer avaliable in the US eShop.

really? I guess the DSiware CaveStory is useless now, and I'm still not sure If I will get the 3DSware CaveStory.

@CEO Or it means Nicalis decided to remove cave story from the eShop, similar to the way they did Tetris Party Live...

Still no trailers or anything for our eShop, I really hope Nicalis doesn't force it out of their rear-end by december...

@All Please let me remind you guys that PAL gamers have been left out except for the current retail CS and the wiiware version, the 3DS remake didn't even make our shores officially, it came from an importer who gets stuff from Europe. I'm still excited that Nicalis has confirmed it for Q4 in Europe/AU/NZ on the eshop, but that isn't enough for me to be 100% convinced, as they've been unreliable in the past, but I'll agree that it's a lot harder to get indie games sold over here in australasia, than it is in europe.

Enough f*cking remakes. Just make a goddamned sequel.

Honestly, I'd rather they make more remakes that I don't have to buy and that I know will be awesome than a sequel which I will have to busy and run the risk of it not being awesome. Pixel himself has said he doesn't think he can top Cave Story.

^It doesn't need to top it IMO (Example: Most people (not myself) prefer MM2 over MM3, but still find 3 to be one of the best in the series). If it's a great game, it's still worth my money. I'm pretty sure sticking to the formula would make for a good sequel, and he could definitely add a lot of content by allowing us to go over backstories of individual characters.

And he's made a lot of conflicting statements about sequels. But unless he screws it up badly, I'm pretty sure a sequel would be pretty good.

I don't think we've had enough remakes of remakes to see a full sequel quite yet imo, need at least 2 prequels first then another 3 remakes then a sequel!!!
