Apparently loose copies of Tomodachi Life are going for $150 and CIB are going for $175.
Does anyone here buy carts that high in price?
Does anyone have that cart?
What is the most you paid for a cart, and what was it?
The most I've paid for a 3DS game is $50 for Samus Returns, with cart + box.
At one point, I was tempted to try to track down a copy of the Game Cube Zelda Collection . . . but when I got the 2DS I decided to get OOT and MM for the 2DS instead so I could play it on the go. I'm glad I did. I'm sure I've got more gaming in being able to game wherever I am.
Funny how these things vary between regions. Tomodachi Life is currently £35 at CEX here in the UK, which is more than it used to go for but not too crazy.
I think the most I've paid for a secondhand 3DS game is £40 for Fire Emblem Awakening. I grabbed it before the eShop shut down, thinking it would get more expensive (like a lot of the older FE games) when it was no longer available digitally, but it's actually gone down a bit in value since then... oh well. I'm playing it now and it's a fantastic game. The most I've paid for a secondhand game in general is £50 for Paper Mario TTYD on GameCube, which was a bargain in hindsight!
Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Nintendo Music
You can get it new from Amazon UK for £59.99 or Ebay is around £30-40. That is pretty high for a 3DS game, but $150?
Sorry, they haven't looked very hard. Are they trying to drive up the price as they have loads to sell or something???

Curious, since he was part of Nintendo Selects here in America. I remember that this game was a huge success in Japan, but the reception in the West wasn't very warm.
I never paid a lot of money for a 3DS game, I bought most of my 39 physical games "on time", while they were still new on the shelf. In the last few years I've gotten a few more games for it, all third-party, and for a good price.
@Dogorilla
RE: ... vary between regions - And unfortunately the 3DS is region locked so I couldn't get a different region cart and use it on my North American 2DS. But the Switch is region-free, right? For the Switch I could use a cart from different regions? Is that how it works for the Switch?
RE: Fire Emblem . . . IMHO if you're playing the game, then its all been worth it. LOL.
RE: I had Paper Mario TTYD for my Game Cube but got rid of it. Looking back, it was the only game I got rid of that I kinda regretted. But . . . luckily it is available on Switch should I ever get the itch.

RE: "Glad, I already bought in June 2014." - +1.

It's stories / cartridges like this that get me thinking about access to old games. If a game becomes too expensive to buy to try out the game, or if it gets trapped on a platform that the consoles become too expensive or too old to play, then it would be shame to lose that game.
But . . .
IMHO Nintendo is doing a great job at giving access to these old games through NSO (emulation) or ports. So although I got rid of my GC Mario TTYD way long time ago, if I want to play that game I can get it for Switch.
@NintendoDad Yep, the Switch is region-free. I think the 3DS is actually Nintendo's only region-locked handheld, so I'm not sure why they decided to include a region lock just for that system.

There's 2 cartridges at a local pawn shop for $28, was thinking about buying one to resell (i already have it digitally)
+1
If you pick it up and make money, you'll be doing yourself a favour. And if you get it to someone that wants it . . . you'll be doing them a favour too!

Well, I did not know that. So I can get DS carts from other regions for my NA DS Lite?
@NintendoDad One that sticks in my mind is DS Chrono Trigger. The Japanese release apparently has an English language option and is (or at least was last time I checked) much cheaper that the western version. I still haven't got around to buying it yet though - one day...
Good to know. I don't know why, but I had it in the back of my mind that that was available on NSO, but it isn't. It's EarthBound that I was thinking about.
But as I was searching that up, I noticed someone said they thought Chrono Trigger might have a chance of showing up for Switch 2.
Is that something everyone is waiting for for Switch 2?
@NintendoDad I guess its possible. I always thought there was a possibility it would eventually show up on Switch, which is probably one of the reasons I've never bought the DS version.

With the Switch 2 release just around the corner, I'm kinda in a sit-and-wait sorta stance as regards to getting more cartridges.
With my 2DS . . . it seems that everytime I found a cart for my 2DS, Nintendo went and released that game on Switch soon after. LOL.
Of course, I got OOT 3D (The nice 3DS port) versus the N64 version on NSO. (As well as MM.) But I got Link's Awakening and the other 2 GB(C) releases, and then LA appeared as a cart for Switch and then all of them got released to NSO. LOL.
But, it's all good. At least I got some nice games on my 2DS to keep me busy while I wait for the Switch 2 release. LOL.
