Well it's on the PS4 too, so it should get localized... unless they do something jerkish and only localize the PS4 version, and ignore the other two versions.Has that ever happened, aside from Japan not getting Xbox versions of multiplats?

@Geonjaha: Nope, except Nintendo fans in the west. Sony's wise enough to localize both X and XI.

@Tsurii: it isn't confirmed for NX....they are thinking about/ considering NX.

I think Nintendo will localize it if Squarenix doesn't so no worries there. Didn't they also localize IX?

SE is backpedaling because the NX is not officially announced yet. Games don't get officially confirmed for consoles that are not yet officially revealed.

And there is a 100% chance that XI will be localized, at least on PS4. Almost certainly on 3DS as well.

The aesthetic of the 3DS one is lovely. Very intimate and very much in keeping with the style of IX. The SNES-looking bottom screen is a great touch. I wonder if it will have some relevance to the story?The PS4 version looks spiffing. Really, really gorgeous and more "epic" if that is the right way to put it. It is great that they seem to be playing to each system's strengths to give each version a completely different feel.

I am almost certain the PS4 version will be localised - although Squeenix will probably be closely watching the performance of Dragon Quest Heroes later this year. I'm not so sure about the 3DS one being localised, but who knows. As for the NX, we know absolutely nothing about this system or its capabilities so I don't want to jump the gun and assume we will be looking at something akin to the PS4 release.

Wouldn't the NX version be similar to the PS4 version? What's the point of the NX getting a upscaled 3DS version? Isn't that redundant in a way?

I'm in love with the 3DS version, and we don't even know if it is coming to the west. But I need it! This would break my heart more than all those remakes, DQX 3DS, DQ Theatrhythm, combined!!! It seems like a love letter to the Dragon Quest games of yore. The 2D map on the bottom, the method of entering 3D battles with the Circle Pad and 2D battles with the D-Pad is charming as hell. I'd import a JP 3DS just for this game (as well as learn Japanese), but lets hope...and hope that we get both in the West. Its a good day to be a Nintendo and Sony Fan.

I don't really get the purpose of the 2D map on the bottom screen, it looks too zoomed in to be useful.

This is probably the best option for everyone involved. So I guess this will be like a Ni No Kuni situation? But hopefully not the same localization situation?

I'm very excited, for one. It is a nice touch for the 30th anniversary, but lets not get our hopes up just yet....have to wait a while longer before we hear word if this is coming Westward. (Which gives me plenty of time to decide how I'll be playing the game!!!)
